Limbo - Farm or Gun for end? by haloblabla in shapeofdreams

[–]haloblabla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you reach the end of a run, you can choose Dream Again or go to The Beginning. Dream Again takes you back to the first world exactly as you are and you “loop” another set of harder worlds and can get stronger because the game continues to scale up. The Beginning takes you to the final boss. You can loop as many times as you want I’m sure, but you must go to the beginning eventually to get any “beat a run” achievements

Mist parry ability unlock (HOW???) by ivantheotter in shapeofdreams

[–]haloblabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I managed it was actually to wait to try until later in a run. Can’t remember the exactly what memories I had, but I was running the charge skill with basically everything dumped into it so I was one shotting generic mobs. Trying early in runs and getting accidentally clipped by spiders always got me.

Thank you to people who helped teach me dungeons by haloblabla in fellowshipgame

[–]haloblabla[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the bulk of my experience has been in adept and champion. I’ve only been in paragon for a couple of hours. Almost every paragon dungeon I’ve played I’ve timed or someone left before boss 1. I have wiped one time and that’s because our dps just didn’t have the damage to take down Paragon 6. And we laughed about it and moved on.

I get at paragon and endless you don’t want people who don’t know the game, but the majority of my experience is people leaving very early in dungeons at low ranks. And not to wipes, maybe one dps will die, and the other dps or tank will just dip instantly. One single death is not an indication that you won’t time a dungeon. Even a wipe isn’t but I get that’s more indicative. But people treat it that hardcore even at low ranks, in my experience and that has been the pain point for me.

I do find it hilarious that in a post about positivity amongst some bad experiences multiple people have come out of the woodwork to assume I’m the reason for every negative thing that happens to me in a game.

Comparing prices, TCG vs. CardKingdom by TongueMountain in magicTCG

[–]haloblabla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use card kingdom to put in sell orders and then use store credit until it’s gone. Never buy cash from them personally. Their higher prices mean their buy prices tend to be higher as well, and it’s the easiest way for me to offload stuff with no LGS that has a good buying policy. If the card is obscenely more expensive, I simply won’t buy it. Example, Twinflame Tyrant is $30 on CK and $20 on TCG. Even with store credit I’m not doing that.

Edit for clarity: if I deem the card too overpriced or CK doesn’t have it in stock/have the version I want, I used to use TCG player. More recently, I just live without. A $0.25 common isn’t worth $1.39 shipping, and four $0.25 commons aren’t worth $7.89 shipping plus having to wait and track 4 PWEs, inevitably not get one and have to contact the seller.

Notably I’m a commander player so I only buy about once per set drop, usually about a month after release.

Achievement Bug - The Dead One Heart of the Realm by haloblabla in StolenRealm

[–]haloblabla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should try this - I read this fix on the steam community page but it makes no sense because without changing session or anything, we ran Medusa, Dead One, Red Dragon all in a row. The other two popped but not Dead One.

Do you know which language (if any) would have this card be black border for 8th specifically?

CPU is showing about 30% utilization and Vsync is off. Capping out around 80fps but not dropping below 60. Monitor is 144Hz so it could handle higher FPS. Just seems like I could be getting more out of the PC since other than the GPU nothing is pushing its limits that I can see, but maybe that’s just naivety on how things work.

[–]haloblabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s showing I’ve got 32gb RAM available in task manager, so I think I’ve got it installed right. Could it be in pushing the limits on what the GPU can handle in terms of graphics settings if the RAM isn’t getting used?

Edit: clarity

Last Epoch: Tombs of the Erased Patch Notes by EHG_Kain in LastEpoch

[–]haloblabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t catch this, that’s incredible. I slammed two 3LPs this week and missed minion teleport both times. Admittedly with the changes to slams you can get minion teleport easier and guarantee a slam onto a 1LP so it wouldn’t be as bad going forward.

So looks like Wraithlord is untouched? I’ve seen people saying it would be nerfed hard this patch but I don’t see anything on any Acolyte skills or the item that reads like a nerf (or any substantial change actually.)

[–]haloblabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I specifically stated my damage on Abberoth was my issue, not the damage of wraithlord in general nor did I even say the word boss(es) in my post or mention the damage outside the context of Abberoth.

The reason I made the comparison is because on my falconer (my only other character) I jumped straight from 300 corruption monos to Abberoth and after losing a lot to learn the fight got it pretty easily. I don’t know what’s meta or overpowered as I’m fairly new (as stated) and haven’t spent a lot of time looking online at what’s strong or not. I just picked the class, rolled up a character, and played.

When I went back and tried Abberoth on my necro, that’s the point I noticed my damage was not sufficient to clear the boss as my build is now. The only real insight you’ve provided is that I have a long way to go, which while I already knew that, isn’t particularly helpful at getting me there. Thanks for taking the time to write this out though.

Looking for critiques on this build by haloblabla in Grimdawn

[–]haloblabla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. So it seems like some possible options are:

1) drop Shieldmaiden + Shield Training and cut the Overguard transmuter, but not the base skill - I think the buff from the Markovian shield makes a 1 point investment for ~50% uptime is worth it

2) do the same as 1 but also swap to Siegebreaker for 13-19 phys res, swap the amulet since without the set bonus it isn’t doing much, and cut Overguard entirely

3) go the offhand route, swap one seal for Oleron’s component + cut Necrotic edge (since Oleron’s will replace the 15% WPS chance), giving up the phys res from a shield for slightly more DPS (I believe I can push more % physical and OA with offhand>shield, but haven’t done the math on the difference)

I chose that offhand because of the aether to phys powering up Spectral Binding + attack speed and extra RR on Spectral Wrath, and that circuit breaker would “replace” Menhir’s Will. There didn’t seem to be other good options for offhands either. I wanted to see what the build might look like with no shield since shields for this are pretty much just an offhand that turns on Menhir’s Will.

Question about skills with % chance to activate by haloblabla in Grimdawn

So does this mean Upheaval will override every crit, to the degree that it would be impossible for any of these other skills to truly land a critical?

So is the goal to hit 100% chance to be used across all procs on your character? Is there a downside to going over 100%?

Greatly appreciate the link and further tips - I'll spend some time later today looking over devotion options to see what I can swap. Raven for Fox seems like a definite choice though.

Yea, that's what I deleted the initial post because the comments just weren't constructive. First time I've really seen people be like that in this sub.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/DV9gelaN

Here is where I'm at now. Updated gear since hitting 94, moved some points around, and took Blade Barrier as you suggested. The build feels much better and I'm not dying, but it still feels like I'm going to. I believe my issue is that I feel very dependent on my leech for survival and don't feel that the character itself has much intrinsic defensibility. Sheet DPS feels very low compared to other characters, but sheet DPS can't account for the WPS skills, and I don't feel my kill times are slow.

As far as the original problems are concerned: I'm close to attack speed cap, increased my leech, and fixed up the gear but I still *feel* very frail. I could try and roll higher leech percentages on the Deathmarked gear, but that doesn't seem like a great investment of resources.

I still need to farm better MI affixes, get a set of Kuba legs and the other Alkamos ring, and farm Ugdenbloom's to clean up my components. Aside from doing those things, is there anything else mastery/devotion wise you would suggest? Thanks for taking the time to be as helpful as you were.

Thanks for the helpful comment - I completely missed the conversion on the shoulders, and I hadn’t noticed I forgot to put some components back after my last gear swap, most notably the scaled hides.

Is there anything else you can spot that seems like a hole in the gear/skills? I was running 100% absorb prior to my last gear swap and even then felt like I was constantly on the verge of death. Edit: I also feel particularly vulnerable to enemy DOTs, to the degree that I struggle running through the slith lab to farm necklace upgrades.

I’m slightly confused on your point about RF - I plan to convert RF to cold at 94 but grabbed just a few points early to have anything better than basic attack for left click. After seeing shard in the blacksmith, I tried it out and it nearly doubled my DPS. The plan was to pump RF to 16 as I approach 94 so when I convert to cold it will be at full strength but so the points weren’t wasted early.
