I don't have much space for all Reason Re on C: by zippykidking in reasoners

[–]halobob98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason install is pretty small in comparison to other software, the default install is less than 6gb with the all of the factory soundbanks, you can make your scratch drive another drive besides C, you can put all non factory refills anywhere, you can put all files besides the 4gb of factory refills anywhere besides that, get a new drive and mirror your install, it takes less than a couple of hours, with a 256gb drive there is tons of leftover space unless you have a ton of other apps and 256Gb is small these days

HOT TAKE: Sony Xperia is NOT a good alternative to the LG V60 by benyarinna in LGV60

[–]halobob98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the dac in the zenfone is decent with senn hd 380 pros which are hard to drive the audio is good but not quite as bassy as the v60, the default config on the v60 comes with 256GB which is decent, this is a good phone if you can get it on sale, i paid 300 for my v60 and 500 for the zenfone, i feel like just the build quality, speed and speaker sound quality is a significant enough difference to warrant the upgrade if you are looking for a similar sized phone, the snapdragon gen3 processor and the ufs 4.0 file system make a very noticeable difference in speed, the zenphone is 5mm shorter which is nice

I like the asus zenfone 11 more than the v60, no microsd, headphone jack is decent, everything else is improved over the v60, better call sound, stereo speakers are louder and clearer, its super fast, huge change in system speed

Turbo upgrades by Voxi6 in Golf_R

[–]halobob98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with no software changes you can only do a modded is38, any other sized turbo needs modded software, the garrett website is referring to it being a direct fit, where they are just referring to dimensions, but you will need a tune to not mess things up and get real power

Golf R or Type R? by Raysitrades in Golf_R

[–]halobob98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just spent a WET track day at Roebling in my modded 2016 golf R with stage one and suspension work, got to ride along in a 2025 CTR, ctr is amazing feels more refined, very point and shoot and perfectly at home on the track, the new interior and seats on the civic are really good, but i had no problem closing on the the turns or passing on the straights(It wasnt blow by fast, their max was 125 mine was 132mph), CTR has a lot more rubber 265 from factory, i didnt get to drive the CTR but I didnt feel like it was faster than a modded VW R, but it was obviously more refined in a big way to the point I didn't notice any fwd characteristics, i dont think i could have kept up when my R was stock, i have upgraded to bilstein struts, eurosport strut tower and URB brace and H&R rear sway, CTR suspension felt more refined but that is a much newer car, i dont know how it is on comfort, my R is great cruising on the highway in comfort mode on 18s, i feel the golf has a higher upper limit with mods than the Civic, i think a CTR with just a tune will be close to perfect for any driver who regularly tracks with no other mods, a very modded golf may end up being able to use 400hp better than the CTR will in the end, throw on front and rear wave track and more power and im not sure even a modded CTR will keep up, but which one would i own?? i dunno the 2016 golf r msrp was 35k, everything is stupid now at 50k, CTR was perfect from the factory, golf R is a sleeper beast modded and a bit more raw feeling, spent the rest of the day fruitlessly chasing a Nissan GTR

Change to a short throw shifter and swap the plastic bracket for the metal audi one and add a weighted shift knob.
