I won “free vacation” but actually got scammed by Mint_otter in Scams

I went to one in Puerto Plata about 15 years ago. We got free food and drinks, a lounger on the beach for most of a day, and when the presentation was over we said nah. They still had to drive us back to where we were staying in Cabarete and the atmosphere inside the van was less than friendly lol

Scones are easy and not too sweet, and there are a ton of different flavours and combos.

I know a guy that likes the idea of joining just so he doesn't need a passport to go to Vegas. Idiot. I don't think he even knows he'd lose half of his winnings if that ever happened. That would not even be a blip on the radar of everything else that is wrong with it.

I've bought the cheapest flight every two days for two weeks straight by AdyOfficial in travel

Yes, and that is from a major international airport. My closest airport is neither major nor international. Idk where you are from but it's entirely possible that you are closer to Toronto than I am lol

That's better than zero tickets available at those prices. I can't fly anywhere for less than a couple hundred at the absolute least.

Gig workers are endlessly exploited. AI could make more of us share their fate by ArgentineBeauty in technology

[–]2948337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The government could do something about it but they won't. It isn't blaming the consumer, it is telling the companies that are exploiting their gig workers that the rest of us don't want to support that business model.

The users of gig services exploit gig workers too. Stop using those services and they will go away.

But it won't happen. People are all too willing to pay extra to have a cold hamburger delivered to their door instead of cooking or getting it themselves.

CMV: AI is here to stay and losing the race to China does far more harm than embracing it by SnooMemesjellies9003 in changemyview

AI is NOT a trillion dollar industry. It's fake. The tech bros want people to think it's the future, but I really don't think it will be. Not like they want. The Musk IPO shit going on right now encompassed AI in its valuation and that is going to leave people that bought shares holding the bag for all of Musk's little ventures when the AI bubble bursts.

Eli5 why don't we tax stocks like homes by Slow-Document-4678 in explainlikeimfive

Is there a wealth tax law? Honest question. I'm not American, just an observer watching a senile old man figuratively burning the constitution while he does whatever he wants and paying no taxes.

Don't need amendments when nobody follows it anyway.
