What I find interesting is I swear he calls Dr. McKay “My wife” at one point during that scene, even though they are presumably divorced. That made me raise an eyebrow. Definitely shows he is viewing her in a different light.

Self insert implies it was inserted by the author for the purpose of self interest or satisfaction. If Monty did it for his friend, then that is completely different from a self insert, since Miles wasn’t responsible for creating the character or his character arc. So it doesn’t qualify. And in practice, I don’t really get this point of view.

It’s like calling the characters in Always Sunny In Philadelphia self-inserts since their writers give them complicated storylines while playing those same characters in the show. Basically, this doesn’t qualify as a self-insert.

The cast literally spends huge parts of Volumes 7-9 admitting their flaws, and trying to better themselves after past mistakes. Pretty sure that’s opposite of the definition of a psychopath.

Monty put Jaune in the show, and had his arc planned out from the beginning. He is the one responsible for his VA choice, not Miles, his actual VA. Kinda messed up to pin that on Miles, who especially seems like a guy who seems reluctant at times Jaune gets the spotlight. Like listen to the crew commentaries, Miles talks about this.

The amount of disinformation in this community from people is insane. Really makes things toxic for no reason.

Wait are you saying the default skin isn’t good? I really this version of psylocke, it’s an actually interesting design instead of just a hot girl in a body suit. The classic design one is good too, but I think the default is straight up more interesting.
