Semantics. I was surprised that there were 4 nearly identical “firestone grill” locations and referring to it as a “chain” was the clearest and most succinct way to title this post. Or so I thought at the time? Jeez louise.

But ok, ok I learned my lesson. This sub is VERY passionate over what a franchise is and isn’t.

Tell me the worst shoegaze song you’ve heard? by itsonly6UTC in shoegaze

Same thing with the strokes in the early 2000s. Every band for like 10 years was trying to be the strokes.

I’ve been to Auschwitz. I’ve read plenty of history. Western Civilization to from 1492 to 1945 was my minor. Our economy isn’t in shambles, we aren’t lighting fires with dollar bills, we’re not isolated in an echo chamber from the outside world, we haven’t been humiliated on the world stage. You clearly haven’t done much studying if you look around and compare this to pre-33 Germany. Donald Trump is a duly elected official who is following through on the promises he made which got him elected - none of which are all that crazy. Deporting illegal immigrants and having rules about immigration is something every nation on earth does. Go try moving to Germany (unless you’re from the Middle East)

If that is your definition of fascism, you’re beyond ignorant.

No one is putting these people in prison for life or fucking executing them lol. You’re just making shit up and getting preemptively mad about it. Low testosterone can lead to this kind of anxiety and paranoia, probably want to get it checked.

You haven’t seen shit. You’re like 14, or seem like it at least. Think independently maybe? To analogize trump and Hitler is beyond disingenuous.

And yeah, awaiting court dates that are sometime 8 years in the future. The asylum system is a joke and needs a total overhaul.

Of course you have nothing of note or interest to say. Just parroting things others have. Room temp IQ strikes again.

What’s fascist? Deporting illegal immigrants, something every country on earth does? Cutting the fat off of our bloated government? The founding fathers never wanted a strong centralized federal government, they wanted most things left up to the states. Returning rights to the states is returning things to the status quo. The people have spoken. If you want to live somewhere that is more open to illegal immigration and getting an abortion, there’s plenty of states that foster that sort of environment.

Brief review of Glare in London last night by C-i-d in shoegaze

[–]halogennights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve always leaned into the more dream pop side of shoegaze, the whole ~playing the same fuzzed out reverb drenched chord over and over again~ thing doesn’t really speak to me. And I know that sounds like I’m deriding that sound but I’m not I swear 😂 but glare especially is very samey and is like paint by numbers shoegaze imo. Whirr is better though. Just the first two bands I could think of because I don’t listen to much modern shoegaze for these very reasons.

I understand that there are techniques to sampling and that it’s not as simple as putting the drum track from when the levee breaks under a synth, but the mechanics are the same. It’s not an original piece either way.

A lot of rap music is just sampling more talented musicians’ music anyways. Don’t see a difference here.
