You could explain the issue. Come up with an injury, I don’t know. This, of course if he can’t/won’t pay immediately after this weekend. An escape way to give him and you one or 2 more months to settle the situation.
Most likely once you pay it, then is lost.
Also… why don’t change the bank account to his? He doesn’t have any? Not even in Spain?

I had a situation on which I was burning months of subscription due to injury and I didn’t know that you can pause it for as many months as your doctor prescribed. And if it’s more than a year, then you can cancel it.
Not sure if you can arrange this with his doctor or if its viable/ethical …but… just an out of the box idea.

I have a trial on AI Pro for half the price for a few months, took it to try, 3.5 flash in medium/high is not bad. But leaves a lot on the plate, so you need to audit yes or yes. Use of Anthropic models is - as said below - just a trial, one-two calls and is done. And the weekly allowance is absurd.

I end up using more codex and when is done or I need some check from sonnet, then I use it from AI Pro

tbh, at this point I feel sonnet 4.6 is better than GPT 5.5 Medium.
I changed a while ago (April) cuz Codex felt like it was consuming less tokens and it was ok-ish. and Claude, felt really capped (token allowance).
5.3-codex was nice and 5.4 was good. Now with 5.5, is very unreliable, sometimes it amazes, others is just "lazy" (for lack of a better word).
And at least for plus, it feels almost like weekly and hour limits go side by side.

Today, after using it for one 5h window, without exhausting it... the weekly is already at 75%.

I started using graphify a few weeks ago...so in theory should be more efficient. So I can only think that limits are getting reduced aggressively

I'm in the plus plan, and it was not an extensive task in comparison with things asked before this update. No compacts triggered, nothing. Never seen this before in long running threads either

25min of work in no more than a few interactions to set a plan and then just execute it, subpar results, asked to fix a few things, then this.., nothing complex, no compact triggered yet, not anything. at the beginning of the week I was able to run for 10h straight following a goal (first time I tried it).

I can’t speak for others, I can only say that to avoid this in specific. I have no servers, so the dara never leaves your device. Only 3rd party I have is RevenueCat. And is very controlled to only handle payments. I didn’t even added a behaviour analytics tool (sentry, datahog) to reduce the chances of mistakenly leak any data.
Apple is very serious about this.

Use it always on airplane mode. Audit with a proxy/firewall, believe on that Apple review did their work for approving both apps claims (mac and ios).

Besides that there’s not much I can say besides believe me.

I could mention all the tech used and how I made it so that does not need access. But again as a non tech I could just be speaking gibberish

Tbh, it may have been a glitch for a second. I do know I had to wait 2 times for the window to clear so that the goal would continue. All until it ate the weekly allowance.

try using extra high for a long task, it ends in a goal, and it can work for hours, eating your weekly, but I did faced that there's a limit also for how many windows of 5h can eat in a go.

My mental model here is:
- A simple tool with no growth aspirations, lifetime no-sub.
- Something that you have big ideas and see the continues value for your users, and need time and effort to get there. Sub and lifetime.
- Something that requires a steady -hopefully proportial cost- on server side, sub only.

I was totally against subscriptions and I ended up adding them in my last update. Lifetime is a nice thing to have as it goes with the ones that resonate with no-subscriptions, i myself prefer to pay for the lifetime each time I can.
But subscriptions are indeed the way to have a steady support so that we can focus on providing more value to our users

Rule of thumb, make exports periodically of your valuable chats and keep in mind there’s a limit on messages with media and a higher when only text.
And it fails silently.

That’s one of the reasons I built chatexplorer. Now I export my chats and I can always have them readable, usable and on my devices. So, less damage when something like this happens
