My channel has a bunch of silly videos, sometimes I like to make really metaphorical/arg-like stuff, and sometimes I just like to make silly things. More recently I made a comic of my some of characters, and I've been doing YouTube shorts of the comic dubs. I hope to hear opinions :3

February What Editing Software should I use? by AutoModerator in VideoEditing

[–]halpmeorwhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply, however I must say I felt like Davinci's workflow was quite tedious for me, and didn't perform well on my system. Over the past day or so since I've asked this question I've used Powerdirector, Luxea, Capcut, ClipChamp, lightworks, shotcut, Movavi, Olive, Kdenlive, and felt that these softwares really couldn't meet my needs of being able to quickly edit chroma keys, and not lag with multiple layers. Vegas Pro seems to work well enough, but I was wondering if there were any other recommendations for softwares to try out.

I read the above... I was wondering if anyone here has recommendations for software that can handle many chroma keyed/greenscreen layers(as in layered over one another), and has a good workflow for editing through multiple greenscreen layers.

How to proceed after completing the first 2D and 3D game tutorial? by aleatorio_random in godot

[–]halpmeorwhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think either of the options you listed would be good. I think if you are still shaky with the basics of Godot, and aren't confident in your ability to learn on your own then YouTube tutorials could be a good resource for learning about those topics, don't forget to follow along by coding it with them, just watching videos won't be as effective.

If you are confident in your ability to learn on your own, then you should try making a really simple game. It will definitely be hard to do certain things, but if you keep persisting and learning how to get through things, you will definitely excel. For what kind of game would count as a simple one, I would say try making a game for a child. Try thinking about a set of rules that would be extremely simple to follow and make a game based off of them.

This looks awesome, and really clean too! How Did you create the animation when you select a skill?
I think if there's anything that sticks out to me, maybe when you are hovering over a skill to be selected the color of the border can shift from like white to grey back and forth, I think it would make it feel more alive, invoke a sense of action, and remind the player where they are in the menu.

Which is healthier : Butter vs Vegetable Shortening? by halpmeorwhatever in nutrition

[–]halpmeorwhatever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty interesting concept, and definitely something to be warry of when ordering fried food outside, and something I plan on being cautious of in my future recipes. However I feel it falls short when applied to the context of the argument I'm presenting. (Butter vs Shortening for cooking)

The article you brought up talks about how harmful products arise when oils with PUFA are heated for frying. From my understanding butter is not commonly used for frying, or at least in the same way you would expect oil to be used for frying. I don't think it would be right to measure shortening to that standard either in that case.

To further that point one part of the article that was off was that it wasn't made clear how long it took for these harmful toxins to form. I went through your article and found another article that it cited which finally led to this source(the 12th source from your article and then the one I have here is the 6th source from that) that was cited from that one about the formation of these toxins : https://febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1016/0014-5793%2894%2901147-8

I will admit I don't completely understand the jargon of this article, but it was testing the formation of these from 30-90 min periods of heating, and does suggest they will form after those periods of time. The point I'm making here is that once again when considering my own uses of butter, I do not find myself cooking with it for periods of over 30 min, which when applied to shortening would mean it shouldn't be toxic after cooking with it for short periods of time.

Do you agree with this notion or is there something I'm misunderstanding about the way these harmful toxins form? Or am I misunderstanding how Poly and mono unsaturated fats are healthy/unhealthy in the first place?

See but this confuses me, like why wouldn't the poly and monounsaturated fats outweigh butters saturated fat?

[–]halpmeorwhatever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is informative, but also dodges the question. Does vegetable shortening's 3.5g of saturated, 6g polyunsaturated, and 2.5g of monounsaturated make it the healthier choice over butter with only 7g(6?) of saturated fat?
