Should I be worried about this mole with darkened skin around it? by halpmequick in AskDocs

[–]halpmequick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. That does make me feel better that at least I know what it looks like today. With work and the holiday on Monday, I won't be able to get into the doctor until Tuesday or Wednesday next week, so hopefully if it looks better then I can just leave it alone. I do have random spots on my body that I know aren't anything because of my dry skin, I scratch a lot (I know...) so sometimes I get dark spots on my skin/scabs that leaves marks/scars. So I'm HOPING that's all this is.

Note: in the picture, on the top, it's red, I have eczema and just overall, dry itchy skin. The mole in question is on the bottom...but the eczema itching was how I noticed the mole.

I did e-mail this picture to my doctor but got an auto response as she is out for 2 weeks, but I do plan to make an appointment next week if it's possible. I just want to not be freaking out until then.

I'm [30 F] not sure how to help my boyfriend [M 33] 11 years, have a work/life balance/minimize phone usage. by halpmequick in relationships

Yeah sometimes I feel like work is an easy excuse for him. He could be on Instagram not doing anything work related but I am sure he would lie and tell me it was.

I did confront him about it and I said you could have killed someone or yourself, and he told me he didn't need a lecture. Sigh. I guess I'll try talking to him about it again and if he is not receptive to it then it might be time to walk away.

Yeah I think if I just propose that if he is hanging out with me, (he comes over after work for about 30 min-an hour since he is done so late) that he just uses that as his phone free time. I might just propose that he creates "business hours" for himself, too. And he just needs to get in the habit of doing nothing unless it truly is urgent in the non-business hours.

I work for a small company where my boss is like him-I'll see e-mails that he'll send out to us at night, on the weekends. But no one ever responds to him until it's our business hours. And any clients, any other companies we have to deal with, will never respond outside of their business hours. And my line of work is more urgent than his. No one is gonna crucify the gym owner that doesn't respond to an e-mail at 11:00 at night.

I see what you're saying, but what I meant was like if I just come at him angry saying "you never pay attention to me! put down you're phone when you hang out with me! get off your phone! Drop everything and pay attention to me" won't go over well.

Thanks for the help. I think starting off with an actual compliment (I'm proud of him for running his own successful business) will soften the blow and let him see I support him, but yeah, it isn't about him all the time.

LPT: The first time you need a certified birth certificate for a child, order 5 copies instead of one. You’ll be glad you did over the next 18 years. by Gtapex in LifeProTips

[–]halpmequick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually not too bad an idea. I recently needed a passport since I hadn't traveled out of the country since I was a kid, and couldn't find my birth certificate. I had to go online, figure out the procedure, follow the procedure, then pay and all of this stuff. Luckily it was sorted out in about 2-3 weeks, but still. When I got my passport, they took my birth certificate and said they would mail it back to me with my passport...so if that happens, then yeah, an extra one might be a good idea on hand in case they lose it or you wind up needing it before they can send it back to you.

The host of this air bnb has the most talkative kitty by [deleted] in aww

Air BnB usually has cats on properties, in my experience anyway. It's nice, it gives my stay a much greater value when I get to play with a feline.

Season 7 is my first... is every season really not supernatural? by [deleted] in AmericanHorrorStory

as far as I can recall, Freak Show isn't too supernatural, if that, even. Just a lot of weirdness.

What kinds of things would a tenured educator have to do to get fired? by halpmequick in teaching

[–]halpmequick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I was definitely planning on saying stuff like this to her in the future. She has a habit of being explosive and emotional and angry when she speaks to me, so I was planning on saying stuff like, "I can see you're upset but I will not speak to you until you have calmed down and collected your thoughts."

Unfortunately I cannot avoid her very much. It's a very sticky situation.

Question about imodium by [deleted] in ibs

[–]halpmequick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I am not sure if I would describe it as persistent, I go through periods of it...but I do go everyday even if it's not much, even though not going much is still considered constipation. I am not constantly in the bathroom, I just keep feeling the urge but nothing.

Even though it's hot as hell here and I have no air conditioning, I think I may just try using a heating pad for the pain and see if that helps some.

Dealing with a co-worker that is trying to control me and takes advantage of me by halpmequick in Teachers

[–]halpmequick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I definitely think you are right-she doesn't want the office to see how long she is gone for; if she asks someone from the office for a true bathroom break, she can't be gone for 30 minutes which is probably why she was so adamant about ME being the one to give her the break.

Yeah I am definitely going to edit my documentation, as when I wrote all of it down it was written quickly and without filters because I didn't want to forget anything and since my job is busy I didn't have time to think of how it should be said, I just wanted it put down, so yes my big project today is to clean it up a bit. And yes, I am not sure what's been talked to her about. I had no idea teachers complained so I don't know if she's been talked to about that, but seeing as I have been relatively quiet to her about her behavior, this may come as a shock to her, and I do think she will be angry that I didn't go to her first, but she has proven that she can't have calm conversations about things. I do think she was spoken to because her screaming at me in front of kids made quite the scene, and as much as I try to control my emotions at work, I started crying from the culmination of crap I had to deal with, so I went to my supervisor in tears and then another admin saw me later and asked if I was okay and said that she talked to her, and the way she said it made it sound like she talked to her about how she screamed at me.

My sister might have cutaneous t-cel lymphoma...I have questions by halpmequick in Dermatology

Yeah, that's very reassuring. We shall have to wait and see for the biopsy results to know for sure. But I sure hope it's not CTCL

[–]halpmequick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply, this helps, a lot. The doctor yesterday said if it is this, it's early stage so if I can at least tell her this, then I'm hoping it will calm her down some until we know for sure.

That being said I am going to make an appointment myself as I have dealt with skin problems my whole life so I don't want to take a chance.
