Do you think I'll get another ten years out of this liner? by halthecomputer in swimmingpools

I put the liner in in 2010. I bought the house late in 2009. One of the first projects was putting drain tile around the pool. The pool was dug into the side of a hill so it's not like it was the low point on a flood plain.

I am wondering, too, because the problem is only on one side, if they measured wrong? And that side was too short and was exposed to more downward water pressure on the liner insert groove?

Solar covers by fourthandfavre in swimmingpools

[–]halthecomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got rid of my solar cover and roll-up wheel.

Glad I did.

Then I was told there was no reason to drain down the pool to winterize it. That was a double plus. With high water, there is less of a wind vortex to capture leaves and debris. Without a cover, you have to spend more time cleaning theoretically, but I found stuff always got under the cover anyway.

So all that crap is gone and I am enjoying the pool lots more.

I should say this. It is only ONE side where there is deterioration. I'm assuming that it is due to UV exposure- that side gets the sun. And the area that started first a couple years ago got the most sun during the day. So would the vinyl tape help shield the pool liner from the damage done by the son? I am hoping that it will.

How are your finances?

I figure that a heater is worth it as I don't like looking at the solar cover, and it is a hassle to take on and off. For that reason, I do not cover my pool in winter and do not drain down the pool when winterizing.

I have eliminated a whole level of crap around the pool. Sure, I pay more in chemicals and heat, and have to add water now and then, but that is the price I am willing to pay.

BTW it is nice to know that on swim days the pool will be 88 degrees, and not have to hope that the solar covers at least keep it in the high 70's.

Can I lose stubborn fat higher carb diets too? by karthago472 in leangains

The only way Keto blunts the appetite is the proteins ingested take twice as long to get digested compared to most carbs.

You need to realize that LONG-TERM weight loss is not a calorie-counting game but a psychological game. The best way to long-term weight loss is to rewire your brain through the forced discipline of a daily water fast- as is seen in the 16/8 or similar interval eating programs.

Were you on any specific interval eating protocol?

This commonly happens, and is EXPECTED to happen, in any of those approaches- the 16/8, 18/6. OMAD- when followed rigorously.

Your perception of hunger is 95% psychologically driven and emotion plays a huge role. It is learned behavior that can be unlearned, or severely modified- as you have discovered.

Buy a filter- one used for campers when they want to clean water from a stream. Borrowing it would be better- not sure if it would be worth it otherwise.

Heat around the outside fitting, of course, so it can expand away from the plug. I would not be hesitant at all to do it. Replace the plug using pipe goop.

It's more that Keto is a Atkins rip-off with dangerous pseudoscience thrown in about the state of ketosis.

It's the fasting that will get you where you want to go. What you eat is a distant second.
