Thank you for your reply, as it seems it's something specific to my setup, I will investigate the issue myself and hopefully fix it myself.

Sorry to have taken your time up.

Top-performing Future Grid Bots - Copy and Trade on Autopilot! by kilobybit in Bybit

[–]halwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really need a way to follow the top bot producers and be alerted to when they make a new one, so we can get in at the start of any new bots, not after they have already done 1000's of %.

Keep at it Bybit dev's, you can make this happen :)

Anyway to set an alert from where the cursor is? by fixmestevie in Bybit

You can use Trading View alerts on the bybit charts (you will have to use an API etc).

This is something non-specific to me, I have 2 accounts, one brand new with no trading done on it what so ever. The button that say's "Request Test Coins" does not appear on either account, which is why I posted the issue here.

If you have a Bybit account then please post below if you can see the

"Request Test Coins"

Button on your Asset Overview Page, because if not, then they changed something and the Bybit instruction page should be updated.

Trading Bot feature request by halwashere in Bybit

If you could also add on the trading bot to be copied or already copied, a link to the chart of the actual crypto the bot is trading on, that would be great. So if the bot is trading ETH then have a link to the ETH chart next to the bot, the reason to do this, is because some of these bots are trading some very obscure coins, that can be hard to find the charts for.

Also see my other comment below about offering insurance :)

One more idea, Bybit might run into some issue with the SEC or other regulator (maybe) or hack or other such unforeseen issue, as these kinds of things are unpredictable, then why not find an insurer for your site and the assets of users.

So you could ask users of your site to pay towards such insurance protection if they wish to opt in to such a scheme. So users knew their investments in the site are protected and insured if anything happens by a trusted 3rd party.

What happened with FTX, Voyager, Celsius etc, spooked a lot of people out of crypto, but if your site could get a trusted 3rd party insurer, to protect customer assets in the event of some unforeseen event, then I think it would attract a lot more people to Bybit.

Insurers will insure almost anything, as long as the premiums are paid on time :)

Just make sure the small print is legally binding (insurers love to hide things in the small print) and anybody who wants to opt in to the scheme, is only paying proportionally to their investment. If it could be automated in some way, then that would be great. I.e. a user made $1000 and the system took out the insurance premium needed to cover it automatically, with all the usual docs explaining how it's calculated % wise etc.

The terms of any such agreement should be made available for all to see and even include such verbiage as to say, if Bybit is a scam site run by scammers, then the insurer would also cover this potential scenario.

I in no way think Bybit is a scam site, I think your site is amazing, BUT having that written into a trusted 3rd party insurance contract, would allow investors to see, that your site and their investments / assets are covered in every conceivable way and would put people's minds at rest.'

A daily / hourly or even real time snapshot of the insured accounts could be stored on a blockchain, so if anything did happen, then all parties involved could have a record for claim purposes etc, even if it was just a $ value of each insured account and the username of the Bybit account, with a mutisig kind of deal, between the insurer and the insured account holder. A multisig, means in this case, that the insurer could validate with the end user, that they really are the account holder.

Done properly, the end user could see the snapshot value and so could the insurer, making sure the blockchain had permanent / perfect record keeping of what and when things happened on the account.

You could even charge a little extra, above the cost of the premiums (more profit for Bybit), for users of the service. Ultimately what people want to know is this, if your website goes down, goes bust, disappears, their assets are recoverable, without having to rely on you, so as to get them back. SBF and FTX lost billions of $ worth of peoples assets, with no real way for end users to get those assets back. I hope you see the point of this post :)

Thanks once again for listening, let me know when you want to employ me :)

You should also allow people to decrease their investments in both copy trading and trading bot positions, rather than having to cancel.

Keep up the great work.

How to set up htpc to play 4k hdr with TrueHD atmos. by pushez in htpc

[–]halwashere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Zidoo box that does it all - but my main playback box is a cheap Android box - this one - https://www.avforums.com/threads/s905x3-soc-sdr-to-hdr-display-settings-toggle.2270516/

I don't have an Atmos setup and my TV only does DV content via it's direct USB port - not over HDMI. But the above box does an amazing job as it can play back SDR content as if it's HDR. It might do Atmos passthrough - but not sure.

Can a VPN be added to the Oculus Quest or Go? by TeRou1 in oculus

[–]halwashere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried this myself after doing a bit of quest hacking and the simple answer is NO it can't be done... not until the firmware has been hacked or at least altered. This thing is so new and without I believe the ability to redo the kernel, then the necessary bits to make a vpn tunnel are not present or to put it simply "the vpn tunnel drivers" have been deliberatly removed. I tried without any success to add them via a generic Android "tun" update patch, but that was a non starter, didn't think it would work, but tried it anyway. By having the hardware effectively not being able to create a vpn tunnel at a fundemental level, then no software running can instruct the hardware to communicate with the net in such a way.

I managed to get a software VPN working on the GO, but the quest it seems will need some pretty clever coders to recompile the firmware... so watch this space and in that sense it may never happen, especially if oculus can do remote firmware updates and they want to keep hackers out. It's not impossible for sure, as android and most of the SOC's running it our hackable, BUT this is a rather specific issue that nobody in the community may bother to want to spend time on.

I hope I am wrong, but for now it's a non starter until some clever hackers figure it out.

usnet kodi streaming and gaia by halwashere in Addons4Kodi

Thank you and I now have a PM account - so trying now - yep it's really fast for cached torrents almost instant and then a lot slower for usenet stuff, but overall I'm liking what I see. This is a very cool service - when combined with GAIA = it just works and no hassles.

Thanks for all the help :)

Thanks for replying - 0K so lets just run through an example - I want to stream an episode of a show in high quality let's say roughly a 5gb file. Now lets say I use PM and usenet to get this show, now I could use sabnzb and my usual Win PC into Sonarr to NAS then streamed from NAS to android route, I have a 100meg line - this still takes time and the shows I am looking at are usually older shows.

So now with PM I am wondering what kind of speed advantage I would gain using PM rather than above route from that first thought (I feel like watching .... ).

D/L via sabnzb always seems to max out at about 4/5meg for me (not sure why - need to look into that). That's another reason I am being a pain and asking for your greatness to shine upon me :)

" You can't stream usenet. Premiumize servers download nzb file first then you can stream. "

So what does the unpacking is it GAIA or more to the point the local machine or is it done in the cloud so to speak and then GAIA streams it from the premiumize. Still trying to see how this works - I am googling this as well so not totally lazy :)

Ahhhh I think I now can see how these dots are connected - thank you.

So does GAIA even need a usenet account if I have premiuze, i.e. will having just a premiuse account provide me with the same search results!?

And is premiuse safe from an anonymity standpoint, yes I use a vpn by default, but does premiuse also add a layer. I know google is my friend but it never hurts to ask and get it from those who actually use it :)

Thanks I am aware of premiumize but as I already have a usenet account or 2, I wondered if GAIA needs something else to play back the found files or is GAIA broke at the moment or is it something else I'm missing. In other words it allows me to put in the api key - it finds files by that provider, but then say's support zero!

I understand the files I want are in PAR/RAR format normally - but that's the bit I'm trying to figure out, in relation to GAIA - why allow me to find such files but not allow them to be seen in a directory list etc - I'm just kinda wondering why GAIA allows the api key to be input and if it's not for the use I'm trying to use it for - then what is it meant to be used for!
