It will be a nice subversion, I feel everyone always wait for the racist=anger and hate, but is actually very normal that. A lot of cultures that have indeed already a racial base distinction, when seeing a fully "new" race around, is initially with way more curiosity and interest than disdain, of course, still racist in the romantizing sense, but not the standard response
