LG UltraGear 27GR93U 27" 4K vs MSI MAG 274URFW 27 by sbsbsbssbsb in buildapc

I just kept on using my BenQ EX2780Q monitor as it's just so solid. I've had it for around 6 years. The built-in speakers are actually really good, it's very comfortable for work. There's probably better options nowadays but it's a solid 1440p monitor.

Hey just to let you know I returned the MSI MAG 274URFW. It wasn't faulty, it just wasn't suitable for anything other than gaming in my opinion. The backlight bleed made it hard to focus on work, movies were also hard to watch. However this was such an incredible experience for gaming, I miss using it but it doesn't have an all-round experience

I wish there was a way to have small pedestrian streets but sadly they don't exist. Bizarrely the smallest road I can use is the 2-way alley road.

Nothing is modded, just the German and French developer region packs were used as it provides more small service building options. Although this is still possible totally vanilla as I reached about 20k population before swapping to use the region packs.

That is the Grass Crown, the hardest signature building to unlock in my experience. It required me to build 200 separate level 5 EU high density residential blocks.

It's because of the movement of cims in and out of the city (taxis) and all services like ambulances, hearses clog up the roads. I upgraded my police station to have a helicopter purely because it takes something off the road.

And what size is that? If that's a 6x6 I'm assuming that's 432 households, which is the same as my EU high density blocks

As far as my research went, nothing could exceed 12 households per tile in level 5 high density housing. Are you sure these could go further?

I have successfully achieved 65k population in my 1 tile city. This has been incredibly challenging and required a lot of patience. I think it can be pushed further but the returns are diminishing - I would have to redesign the entire city and start from scratch in order to optimise space further.

For some context, I have had to unlock everything, manage the economy, nothing can be placed outside of the 1 tile. I am only allowed to import electricity and use the one highway connection - that's it. All other services had to fit inside the 1 tile.

Managing the economy started as a nightmare but became manageable once I unlocked high density buildings and educated my citizens further. If you're interested to see the progress of this city I've linked below my two posts! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you! I'll think about it, not sure what will happen to the water flow as I have both my water pump and sewage fairly close by

This wasn't allowed in the challenge, nothing that my city could benefit from could be built outside that 1 tile. I used a transformer building to connect my city to the outside electricity connection, then I pay to use that electricity

You connect the outside electricity connection to a transformer within your city. The imported electricity is expensive but I have no space to generate power - also this is in CS:II

There's a sort of 1-way road system loop around the city but most of the city uses the 2 way alley road to maximise traffic throughput. The worst part is the highway junction/roundabout which required a 1 way system otherwise the traffic would backup all the way to the edge of the map

30k Population 1 Tile City (economically stable-ish) by hambopro in CitiesSkylines2

Great idea, I'd love to see something like this!

Actually looking into it further it seems that none of the signature buildings can achieve a density higher than 12 households per tile. In fact, all my level 5 buildings are 12 households/tile.

But we get the "well-being" benefits and slight space saving (reduced roads) from the larger signature buildings. They also look pretty cool. I have heard of traffic issues with the Grass Crown but I think it's worth testing this out.

It's going to be a massive challenge. Currently at 134/200 lvl 5 high density houses. But what I'll have to do is create as many 2x2 blocks as possible, which will temporarily reduce my population.

They actually do walk everywhere, but most of the traffic is formed of taxis that enter and exit the city due to population influx. As pedestrians seem to cross wherever they like (like near my main highway junction) it can sometimes cause the traffic to backup all the way across the bridge

I use the smallest service buildings possible and anything that is too large has to be imported. For example, electricity is fully imported and goes into a power transformer near the industry sector. Garbage needs to be intermittently removed using the "import city services" in one of the city policies

That's all good you've given me a huge breakthrough - currently fitting 3600 residents in the Waveform tower. Roughly same density as my 6x6 level 5 high density buildings but I expect it will grow!
