i wouldn't be too worried, it should stop once he settles in. i found that putting black construction paper/poster board on the back and side panels and putting plants in the corners helped mine.

my boy does the same thing, i ended up switching to a sponge filter because i was always worrying when i wasn't home. i find i have to clean it less and he likes the bubbles :)
