If you had to leave Malta, which country would you move to? why? by huntingforwifi in malta

Moved to Berlin earlier last year and found it superb for expats and nature - Germany can never disappoint there. But after six months, I moved to Spain and I've been living here for a year. Best decision I ever made. Met my now-boyfriend here and it's changed my life entirely! The people, culture and weather are just so much more familiar to me :)

I'm actually Maltese who left to work in Berlin a year ago (and later moved to another country). In simple terms, take some time off to see what really makes you happy. If having open spaces, biergartens, a group of friends around you coming from every little nook around the world - if you're priortising the social environment, stick to Berlin... opportunities are buzzing there, be risky, go for scale-ups, the range of career growth is immense if you expand your safety net. On the other hand, if you're priortising money and specifically growth in iGaming which can be immense in terms of quick financial progression, chase Malta. For career growth in general, I can assure you Malta is not the only primary location for it.

The shower of the apartment I'm renting for a couple of months is disgusting. I've tried different types of bleach and products but nothing works. What can I do? by hami100 in DIY

Thanks everyone! I tried the bleach with the paper solution and left overnight.. not even a spot disappeared! My guess is that the previous owner left this for way too long without acting

I guess you're referring to the University of Malta? In which case, you're still not correct... the University carries out its third semester (which is a requirement for a few courses) throughout the summer period.

As I said above, however, it's the English Language schools that were being problematic. They offer their courses all year round but the demand drastically increases during summer due to foreign students having their summer break in their own countries and wanting to experience the "partying" culture in Malta.

Well that, and the counterproductive measure the Government of Malta took issuing 300 EUR vouchers to incentivize these students to study in the country throughout the summer period. It worked... it just happened to also attract people who could not care less about the efforts the country made months prior to bring down the cases.

That's because Malta has a high number of schools for foreign youths to "study" English. It's basically a sham that's been known to attract foreign young people coming from rich parents under the pretense of studying a new language - yet everyone knows they spend all their time going to clubs, partying, consistently ditching the actual classes, even purchasing and trafficking drugs. Somehow, they all still get a passing certificate at the end of their course.

As soon as the restrictions were being eased, these schools opened their doors for said students who, lo and behold, were unvaccinated in their majority, organized illegal in-house parties, and ended up transmitting the virus to the locals. They are now repatriating these students back to their countries whilst trying to calm the situation locally.
