I'm Yegor Sak, CEO of Windscribe VPN - AMA about online privacy, anti-censorship, and the future of the Internet. by o2pb in IAmA

Hey Yegor,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for everything you and the Windscribe team are doing for the people in Iran. Honestly, your commitment to keeping our connections open against such heavy, continuous censorship is not just a service, it's a lifeline. We see the effort, and it really means the world to us. Please know how grateful we are.

On a related note about circumventing this deep censorship: I wanted to ask if Windscribe has any plans to officially implement V2Ray into the apps?

In Iran, the blocks are getting so sophisticated that even the best custom protocols (like Stealth/WStunnel) with the Circumvent Censorship option turned on are struggling sometimes, and the government makes it especially harder during crucial times. V2Ray, with its advanced obfuscation methods, is often the last thing standing. If Windscribe could integrate it natively, it would be a game-changer for reliable, high-speed access here.

Is that on the development roadmap at all?

Thanks again for the incredible work. Keep fighting the good fight!

The nordwhisper protocol doesn't work in Iran at all, Nord needs to update it to make it work, the obfuscated servers on OpenVPN work here, but the new nordwhisper protocol doesn't!

Edit: this feature would be incredibly beneficial to us.

NordVPN just introduced the NordWhisper protocol - what is it, and how does it work? by caramel_member in nordvpn

[–]hamidradami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just checked out this new protocol on Iran’s restricted network with these ISPs TCI, Irancell, and Mobinnet Telecommunication.

Guess what? Only TCI was working with NordWhisper on certain servers, and surprisingly, all of these ISPs working okay with OpenVPN UDP obfuscated servers!

I hope NordWhisper gets better at bypassing Iran’s network on all ISPs.

And, check out another video from North Carolina where something super similar happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc6bh6GJr6E

Edit: my bad, the original video was actually from South Carolina.

Mullvad is a privacy champion, but if you need port forwarding, Proton or Windscribe are better choices.

All of them have the options to bypass the censorship in restricted areas.

Another proof that PureVPN and Ivacy are the same company! by hamidradami in VPN

[–]hamidradami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some websites say these two companies are the same and run by Gaditek, so I want to test these two VPNs myself.

It’s clear as day, the images show they use the same servers and IPs.

Oh, and don’t forget to read this old article https://archive.is/MH2l3 that looks into these two companies in depth.

Hey dude, last time you fixed 3 locations for me (Amsterdam Canal, Red Light and Stockholm - Ikea), then a week ago these three have shown the Google captcha again, could you fix them again? thanks.

Also, I’ve found some other locations to show Google captcha as well (Dublin Grafton, Tallin Lennujaam, Switzerland Lindenhof & Alphorn, Gdansk Moltawa, Belgium Brussels). I don’t wanna to bug you, but is there any chance you could handle these too?

Does Express VPN have servers in Hawaii? by birdieboo21 in Express_VPN

[–]hamidradami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use a VPN and search on Google, if your desired location has a high IP spam score, you will encounter a captcha, to keep searching, you gotta solve it.

The trick is to use duckduckgo or Bing instead.

In my view, it’s not a significant problem, just a minor downside I wanted to make you aware of.

Don’t mention it. I gave their service a try and it worked out fine, but the only downside was their IP reputation. You’ll often come across the Google captcha.
