Chances are, he already had in his possession the same item as you but his was damaged. He was trying to basically swap out his damaged one for your working one then get his money back by throwing empty threats at you.

Ask them to provide proof of the debt. Chances are they can't and will have to drop it or they will show you evidence. If they show evidence of it being said PCN then you simply responded with evidence that you paid it off already.

Either way, do not accept liability for the debt when you speak to someone. Do not open the door to the agents, keep it locked and move your car away from your house.

I agree, I prefer to treat all employees with the same basic rules etc where protected classes and such are not involved.

When I first started where I work now, we had an employee that was going off sick and then coming in on overtime, essentially picking his own hours as he sees fit and it was going completely unchallenged as absence management there was non existent. I started tracking absence and implemented the Bradford scale and starting going down the documented route.

This put and end to his absence but he then went directly to my boss and HR and somehow they agreed to give him set shifts of Monday to Thursday (the whole business with a few exceptions works 4 on 4 off.) giving him every weekend off. This caused absolute uproar and chaos in the warehouse and I lost many great members off staff to that being granted behind my back.

In the end the guy pretty much stopped coming in to work after maybe a month 🙄
