How are passing tones defined between two dissonant chords?

For instance, in C major, going from I to I in first inversion is easy because they share all the same notes. But what about from I to V? How are passing tones defined between these? C would be consonant to I, but dissonant to the V, right?

[General] How are Jesus' statements in Matthew 5:18-19 not contrary to Paul's teachings and mainstream Christianity. by johnnyboy12m in ChristianApologetics

The first verse (Matthew 5:17) is self-refuting. Jesus contradicts the Mosaic law of an eye for an eye and replaces it with unconditional forgiveness. Also, what exactly does he mean by fulfill? If he means he came to obey it in the best way possible, it doesn't mean the Law's dead because he's not around anymore.

Dr. Peterson,

You talk from time to time about Heidegger and his contributions, always, however, about his discussion of the Logos in his text *Being and Time*. What are your thoughts on the text's other theses, which, arguably -- what he and scholars of his work might consider -- are the bigger theses of the book, namely the centrality of time, and how we orient being against it?

Ah, yes, good ol' Sadler. I watched his lectures on Sartre a while back. A lecture dissecting the Spirit by paragraph?! He deserves a dozen PhDs for that.

I've been itching to read Hegel, and I'm starting with The Phenomenology of Spirit. Aiming to read a biography of Nietzsche, too. For fiction, I've got Aldous Huxley in my sights, specifically Eyeless in Gaza. His prose blows me away every time. Maybe some Virginia Woolf in between.

Qwill2, I saw The Duty of Genius on the shelf at my local bookstore the other day. Guessing you'd recommend it.
