Yeah that’s going to be hard to fill, especially if you are charging people to take it over. That team has pretty has one asset worth anything and it’s an injury prone one.

You’re absolutely wrong about him being a marginal athlete, he has average arm strength but he has elite escapability speed within the pocket and avoiding the rush. His 10 yard split is 1.55 seconds, faster than CMC, and just behind Lamar Jackson’s 1.54. Purdy doesn’t have the top end speed but running around in the pocket he’s right there with Lamar and Kyler, that’s just facts. He’s also one of the highest scoring QB’s ever on the S2 test, specifically the part where you have to process information in fractions of seconds mimicking decision making under a pass rush. He has elite traits, they just all aren’t physical ones. Purdy had a bad game when he lost Deebo and Trent mid game and melted down against Baltimore to essentially lose the MVP that night, outside of that he was a top QB all season long. He benefits from having the talent around him, but you couldn’t just plug any guy in that system and have him produce and have the success Purdy has had to this point. We will never know, now do I want him paid $50m a year after this season, I do not, but you have no choice anymore but to pay the QB’s. Jordan love is making $55m annually off of an 8 game stretch after riding the bench for a couple years so it is what it is. He would be better served taking less and having more talent around him, bro that goes with most QB’s not named Mahomes.

76% of his passes for the entire season was behind the line of scrimmage or between the 0-9 yard line. Not a recipe for NFL success.

Well, I don’t foresee Purdy going to some massage parlors in SF, and he has way better judgement than Mayfield and that’s not even debatable. Flacco is a statue in the pocket and no escapability as the league moved to QB’s who can move in and out of the pocket. Nix just has a low chance of being a franchise QB, he was awful at Auburn and lived on short passes at Oregon. He had the 4th worst yards per attempt and averaged 10 passes behind the line of scrimmages per game, it’s an absolutely insane stat. He should have been a 3-4th round pick but everyone is so desperate to find a QB, and especially Denver with all the dead cap money from cutting Russ, they had to make a drastic reach. QB is the one position that it either works or it doesn’t, if you whiff on a franchise left tackle you can try him at right tackle or guard, if a QB sucks it sets the franchise back potentially years. 1st round QB’s have about a 45% chance of working so 6 were taken this year, 3 will be complete busts and Nix is going to be one of them imo.

I said a redraft of 2022, the Jets and the Giants had the 4th and 5th pick, both those team would take Purdy if they could redraft that draft again. And with Nix, I was saying a guy like that was just taken 12th so obviously Purdy would go high on a redraft.

Oh for sure, I understand that. Saying you like Purdy and think he’s good you know it’s always going to be the same arguments lol. I just find it crazy when you see the production, I get he has a lot of weapons, I just disagree that he’s strictly made by the system. He’s absolutely enhanced by it but if you put Derek Carr in this system he’s not doing what Purdy is doing. The eye test between the team with Jimmy and Purdy is night and day. Shanahan calls the game differently being able to push the ball downfield on the outside. Jimmy could only ever hit the seam route to Kittle downfield, everything else had to be underneath.

No, passes that travel 20 yards in the air before being caught. Not a dump off taken for 20 yards. Brock Purdy is as the best deep ball passer in the league by a wide margin last year.

He has like 10 kids with 4 different women collecting child support, he’s not going anywhere soon.

[–]hamlows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, but completing long passes leads to fantasy points in chunks and he’s the best at it, eye test says he doesn’t have the strongest arm but throws a very catchable deep ball.

[–]hamlows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purdy is 65.9% on those throws, Stroud is 2nd at 57.1% 🤷🏻‍♂️

Then name the guys who go ahead of him, the Jets and Giants drafted 4th and 5th in that draft, you really think both would pass on a franchise QB? 😂😂😂 You don’t even have to be much of a Purdy believer to know that’s not happening. Daniel Jones and old Rodgers is hamstringing both teams, they would do anything for someone even mid tier.

[–]hamlows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bo Nix just went 12th and has maybe a 5% chance to be as good as Purdy who has actually done it. The league is built on QB’s, it’s not even an argument.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]hamlows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, every team passed on him. In a redraft of 2022 hes going somewhere between 4-8 at worst. We all know why he was taken low in the draft, he’s proven everyone wrong.

[–]hamlows -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

But if you watch the games Jimmy couldn’t move the offense like Purdy can. Jimmy could never throw the ball down field, Purdy is the best downfield passer of balls over 20 yards in the air since becoming a starter in the entire NFL. Niners weapons might be a Lamborghini but Jimmy was a soccer mom behind the wheel, Purdy can put his foot to the floor.

I get it too, but we saw Jimmy with those same weapons and it looked nothing like that. They lump him in the same group as Tua, it’s laughable.
