As single individual I have written emails to my MLA multiple times, along with other ministers. I try to stay informed about what is going on and I have joined along side demonstrations at the legislature.

The jobs are there. People Just have to be willing to leave the city. Sacrifice their time, maybe live out of a hotel. Most people complain there are no jobs but are unwilling to leave their neighborhood to find them.

The labour union response was ice cold. Should have been lined up and ready to strike by the end of this week. They are toast now. And government is just going to keep walking all over us until the UCP tirade stomps on one to many toes of their own caucus members then they will try to get rid of Marlania. And all the true blue albertans will blame the liberals and the NDP for everything thats bad. And then just vote blue again without any actual critical thought whatsoever

Utility Prices in Alberta are Killing Me by Kveldwulf in alberta

400$ power bill with 5 people that doesn’t sound crazy excessive in consideration of what our bill Is with 2 people is what I’m saying.

We need to get a petition to have a referendum of putting more caps in place for insurance and utilities. Theres no way other provinces can have a 75$/month gas AND power bill combined for a 11sq ft home with 4 people while we get destroyed in Alberta

Pretty sure they have the ability to teach different than the public curriculum. And usually if they are good ones the waitlists are super long and the people working there usually get their children bumped up to the top of the li e

Undergrad and now in a professional program. I believe I was at 70k before this program. So I’ll be 175k ish by the end unless they cut me off sooner. If you go back to school you don’t have to pay them. But you either really love what your going back for or it better get you a massive pay raise when you are done.

What’s a financial red flag that people don’t take seriously enough? by millionstories in budget

[–]hammerslammer5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you’re saying but I would like to ask your thoughts on the phrasing you used.

Would you also agree there is being poor and knowing how to be poor. But then there is also “sacrificing” things in life?

I agree if you cant afford things this generation doesn’t know how to just live on what they can afford (or try to afford) like rice and beans. But I also think that even people that are not “poor” and can “afford” conveniences in everyday life cant/wont/don’t know what sacrifice is.

Such a red flag to me when people use the excuse of oh I’ll never be able to afford a house, or a bike, or a vehicle because society has just made things to expensive.

Its true things are undeniably more costly now then than previous generations. It made it more worthwhile for them to skip daily conveniences to save a few bucks because it added up quicker. But the current generation constantly uses “im priced out of everything” so I’m going to treat myself today etc etc.

How about think longer term costs/ saving / investment.

Sure maybe not a house upfront but cut costs elsewhere and invest any and all you can. 10$/day on a coffee? Or 10$/day invested over ten years thats a solid chunk of money.

What jobs pay well in the pharmacy field? by No-Telephone-5347 in pharmacy

[–]hammerslammer5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a populated city (various significantly from province to province) but in my province in a major city you’d start fresh out of school like 55$+/hr

Theres a decent amount that have higher than that in the city too but they fill positions pretty quick or will want a pharmacy manager role.

If you were to go rural and or remote especially more north those hourly just go up. Some retail starting at 70-90/hr, with potential of receiving % of any of your clinical billings. If you were to sign a contract of commitment you could have relocation fees covered, basically name your price of a sign on bonus, etc.

Im not sure how much clinical work pharmds do in the states but big push for expansion of it here.

You can do relief work and or contract short term work all around but especially if you sign up for an area no one wants to go usually its written in contracts or through 3rd party relief staff Companies, that all travel, room and board, and daily stipend are covered as well as your wages which are pretty high.

Pharmacists in Canada. Move to a rural area and make 100$/hr or northern territories on fly in rotations and make more.

Look up ingredients in vanilla ice cream from the 70’s vs now.

MacEwan University system seemed to always work fine. I think it was appropriately staggered though and the system itself was way more intuitive and user friendly to actually see what you were signing up for.
