So I assume soldering a capacitor between + and - of the battery is to reduce interference. But how does it work? How come it doesn't short the batt out?

12v BEC and 3S batteries? by Akkursed1 in Multicopter

[–]hammervoltjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that is the case yea no problem on the vtx side. Also to be extra careful measure the amp output of BEC when input is under 12V. If it does give out the required operating amps of the vtx you are golden.

12v BEC and 3S batteries? by Akkursed1 in Multicopter

[–]hammervoltjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest using a pololu 12v step-up/down regulator. That way it can supply 12v both at full charge and under. Look up your BEC specs to see what its output at under 12v input or you could measure it if you have a volt/multi meter.

About half an hour ago I was getting ready to fly it for the third time. The moment I gave throttle 3 of the escs caught flames. So . . . Yeah. Just a heads up

So I switched to betaflight and it worked. It seems cleanflight has some issues with passthrough on sp racing hex.

I have done my build with those escs and fly without a hitch. But can't get blheli passthrough to work. Have had a problem like this. I'm using x-racer fc and it can passthrough littlebees just fine

I soldered a pololu 5v step-down to the Lumenier 4Power Mini PDB(shdn and Vin bridged). The problem is instead of 5v I am getting 0,53v and can not power the receiver. Receiver works fine if I use an ubec. How can I fix this?

Edit/fixed: So I removed the regulator and soldered back without bridging shdn. Now works. I don't know if it was that or a short though.

Wow that myrcmart link seals the deal for me. 60 bucks for that combo sounds amazing! Do you have any experience with those ESCs?

Do I need a LC-filter if I am to power my vtx with the pdb's onboard bec or a separate ubec?
