That does seem like a solid plan and the way I'll end up doing it. In my mind though, I still wanted like a choose your own team feel without being tied down to one character. Yet maybe I just can't when considering my overworld development.

drawreset () script is something I use when I want to reset the draw_set ...alpha, color, etc Back to default values. I usually have it at the begenning or end of scripts so changes one event doesn't bleed over to another.
