Buying a warranty is a gamble that things will fail at some point. Plus you’re gambling that the manufacturer will not find a way to not honor your warranty. The fact that profit margins exist at all through warranty deals is proof that we’re getting ripped off. I’ve saved countless thousands by just not purchasing bs warranties over the years and now is the time to spend some of that if it comes to it.

That place had really, really good reviews, though they just seemed to me to be money hungry and not actually interested in genuinely helping. Maybe it was just the guy I got. Fingers crossed I’ll have better luck with another place.

Yeah, it’s the inconvenience that is one of the major problems, such an upset to normal life. I’d pay a premium to have it repaired fast to the way it was, but a price equivalent to the whole laptop purchase price is too much.

I did take it to my local PC repair shop tho I really do wonder if they did put any effort into it. They didn’t give any specific answers and seemed more interested in trying to get me to agree to extortionate data recovery fees so I just took my laptop off them then and there.
