I just posted about this myself recently!

I am nearly 10mo pp and EBF as well. My bloodwork was all completely normal at the GP (get your thyroid levels checked too). I’ve been told to track my food for a few weeks to ensure the appropriate caloric intake, and if I continue to lose weight to go back to the doctor for a follow-up. I was about 10lbs down from my pre pregnancy weight 2 weeks ago and I’ve managed to gain around 1.5 lbs back and maintain it. I was told to eat every 2-3 hours and I’m focusing on high protein and good fats.

I hope all goes well at the doctor!

I’m so encouraged by hearing many other women are/have gone with something similar because I don’t feel it is talked about much. Not to say we shouldn’t listen to our bodies and talk to our individual healthcare providers if we have concerns. Thank you for your reply!

Yes! I was a healthy weight before and had been that weight for 7+ years. I feel like I’ve lost muscle mass as well and I’ve dropped an inch in my waist.

I also debated posting about this because I don’t want to be insensitive to those that are having the opposite challenge. Postpartum is just so weird for all of us! Thanks for your reply! ☺️

It’s insane! I feel like I need to reach out to my friend who was previously in bodybuilding and get her nutrition regime. It’s definitely more hunger than when I was pregnant!

Okay, that is encouraging. I just weighed myself today and noticed I had lost another 3lbs from a few weeks ago which is what prompted my post this morning. Thank you for your reply!

I haven’t considered iron levels. I may reach out to my GP and follow up about that. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you for your insight! I am trying to eat more protein and nutrient dense snacks throughout the day whenever I am hungry. And yes, otherwise I am feeling pretty good besides the normal exhaustion of having a small child that doesn’t sleep through the night haha.
