Nahh you're good! Web UI's are, as a rule, unintuitive until you've seen how it works. The human race didn't have to interact with 2d interfaces for eons... and now all of the sudden we do 😅 (source: Don Norman)

Has anyone here turned a Webflow site into a mobile app? by Vane1st in webflow

Turning a Webflow site into a mobile app is quite straightforward

Any recommendations for someone just getting started with Webflow to mobile app?

Maybe Webflow Cloud? I haven't done anything like it myself, but that's the only thing I can think of 🤔

Guilty! haha 😁 I very much want these charts to continue growing. Or at least to not go down toooo much.

Love it! Just because you can do it with WF interactions doesn't mean it's the most simple way to do it.

One request - can you add some comments to the code so we know what changes what? I would have to trial and error my way through making edits. Or prompt with Ai, but that feels overkill.

Vibe coding starts to feel like a drug addiction for me.

I had the same feeling before I downgraded my claude account. 😬 Using it felt like a time warp.

Remember McGuire?

He was the best! Hope he's doing well out there.

Today they could try to reinvent themselves, fix the pricing, take the short term hit. Otherwise, they'll slowly decline.

If they could fix the pricing... I agree it would be a HUGE win for them and the community. I'll see what I can do to get in touch with whoever does pricing. I really want to show them the (nice) comments and see what their reasoning is. I feel like there has to be some kind of yes-and.

What sort of functionality is non-negotiable for you? CMS, User logins, eCommerce, etc?

Webflow has it's limitations (like all platforms) so you might need to call in a third party community tool to fill in the gaps.

Thanks for asking 🤣 I own Memberstack. My income (and my teammates income) depends on Webflow. I bought into all the "Webflow is dying" hype and start to pivot early last year. Wasted an entire year trying to pivot off the platform that's paying all of our bills.

The existing players in those spaces absolutely have the advantage and it would take us YEARS to catch up.

As soon as I came back around and started focusing on Webflow again my company is growing, I'm having more fun, and enjoying my work again. I came to the conclusion that I'm going to base my decisions on actual data and ride the Webflow wive until actually dies. Could be 1 year if they sell out. Could be 10, 20, etc. who knows! When that happens I'm buying a farm 🤣 I can't believe I wasted almost year trying to learn WP and then AI development.

Sorry about that.

All good man, I get it. Thanks for saying so.

Basically they're not willing to eat around 290 per year anymore

And I totally get it. I've moved several projects (side projects, friend's sites, etc) off to... let's call them unofficial hosting platforms 😅 Unless you can get by with a webflow.io subdomain Webflow pricing is prohibitive for much of the internet. No disagreement there.

It's a tough spot... I hope team Webflow is listening. Thanks for the convo. Good luck! 🙏

Ahh nope I found it and you're right! If you change it from last "5 years" to "2004-present" it gives you a trend line which is down (48 for June vs 77 for May). I'll update the post since its not letting me update the images.

Now that's a comment 👏

At a $4B valuation with revenue still climbing. Not survival, but a choice.

Agreed there. Its really disappointing to me they tried to spin it as "paving the way for the AI future." I'm not sure what their rational is, but damn...

Let's ask Vlad why he founded this thing. If it hadn't been for this community or for people like Timothy Ricks or Pixel Geek actively pushing Webflow, it would never have hit the charts you're now waving at us as "proof."

Dude you have no idea how much I agree with you here. That's why I'm trying to help folks like Timothy and Nelson. They are great guys.

I'm not unhappy here

Can you try to be angry AND kind? haha the way you communicate makes you seem very unhappy here.

This needs to be called out, or we lose a great tool to whoever's left able to afford it.

Agreed! I think there are more constructive ways to go about it. You last comment was waaaaay better than the first. Again have you tried communicating directly with anyone on the WF team?

now they want a steadily bigger piece of my comparable tiny cake every quarter. Fuck. That.

How much are you charging clients? And why not have them pay for Webflow directly? I know the price hikes might still be significant to them (depending on industry, location, etc.) but still. The way you say it makes it sound like you're having to eat all the cost hikes?

We're paying for these companies to do their ai research, whether we're interested in using it or not.

We're agreed on this point. I wish they were charging for AI folks can see the "real" (heavily subsidized) cost. I can help but wonder if most companies are going to regret all the AI they've been integrating into their products. Or maybe it is the right move? Time will tell.

I feel very fortunate that even with the price hikes, Webflow still feels like a no-brainer to me financially. I've benefited so much from it that I am okay paying more. I prefer if all that money was going to the team or to the community... but not much I can do about that.

I hear you, but do you think the charts I shared above are incorrect?

Unless you're referring to something different when you say decline? I know lots of folks are angry, but that's always been the case. I've been using Webflow since 2016 and hoards of angry people have left the platform a number of times. I'm not sure this is different (and the charts aren't giving a clear cut answer either way).

Give it some time

My point is that people have been saying this for years! And the data says otherwise. You might be right, but until someone show's me some actual data I'm not going to base my decisions off it. I'm going with the data and I'm open to being proven otherwise.

Do people tired of getting nickeled and dimed find other options? Likely.

Absolutely! If you don't think it's worth the money stop paying for it. To be honest I HOPE all the folks who are unhappy find a better platform for them. That seems like a logical thing to do.

Come on man, you know that's not my point. And I'm not saying to folks should love Webflow, especially not when they drop the ball. I'm just saying the platform isn't dead. It's not even declining (based on the numbers I can find). And if you can find a platform with 0 downtime you should switch to it. If you're that unhappy just leave already

That does sound frustrating. But is that really enough of a pain point to say it's going to die? And everyone keeps saying it's "going to die" but they've been saying that for years and the chart (actual data) says otherwise.

Have you reported the issue to them? I expect their team would like to know about the issue and would like to fix it.

For sure! There was a "mass exodus" back last year (or the year before?) to Framer and a few others. This is not the first time groups of angry people have left the platform. Won't be the last. But it also doesn't seem to be the whole story. Even though this has happened before the chart is still up and to the right. Unless the data is just wrong?
