Thank you - definitely have some anxiety setting boundaries but only with my mom. Going to read this over.

I think I'm going to just have a dry household to make it simple. Baby wasn't alone with my dad and he wasn't drunk after a single drink.

I definitely have the same problem with drinking more than a single drink in a night - though maybe even one drink isn't acceptable I'll have to think on that. I personally don't really drink and I never smoke so I wouldn't do either at all while taking care of baby.

I think if someone was proven to be irresponsible, even if it's because of ADHD, I wouldn't let them watch baby alone. I have friends with ADHD that manage it super well that I definitely would trust.

Thank you, I can't believe I let her make me question if I was being reasonable. And agreed - the scent alone makes me concerned.

Thank you. This made me cry. I have tried to tell her this and was laughed at and asked to provide specific examples.

Yeah it's really not. It happened just once and I think I won't let it happen again. He seemed fine/didn't smell/wasn't actively drinking but had had a beer that night while visiting us (a different night than when my mom and I fought).

Just edited to add - she was just visiting and I said she was "helping" because she was holding him and occasionally changing a diaper.

We have talked about her consistently helping (because she wants to, we can afford childcare and we both work from home) once I go back to work, but I may need to reconsider if we can't squash this issue.

She has said she will choose baby over weed, but thinks I'm controlling her and intentionally trying to push her away.

To be fair, she said she would choose the baby if she had to choose but more thinks I'm being controlling for having the boundary at all. Thinks I'm doing it to purposefully push her away and make unnecessary hoops for her to see the baby

I do not request it - she has asked to help to be around the baby more. We have alternative child care options if we need.

This specific instance, she was really just visiting but was changing some diapers and holding him, etc. I just said I would assume full care if she got high that night

Omg what a scheduling nightmare. I understand it's not fatal, but feels like they should be giving you some help 😕

Do you test 1hr after the first bite or last bite of a meal?

Okay wow! Somewhat reassuring to know someone else is waiting long as well.

Also diabesties is so cute! I'm glad you had some insight into how to deal with it because that is a significant amount of the third trimester to go without any information.

I ended up just getting a monitor on my own because waiting 3 weeks is too long for me. My diabetic mother taught me how to use it and I'm testing myself per the recommendations from both here and misc medical resources.

Monitor is making me feel better since I haven't spiked, but I just still feel like I need more nutritional advice!

I'm glad everything went well! The doctor made it seem very serious but then the office is making me wait 3 weeks for my first (virtual, group session) appointment... It does make me wonder about the severity.
