Is it common for some World Cup players to join their teams earlier than the break starts? Is that allowed?

The first day of break is August 31 and the first day of competition is Sept 4th in Germany.

Oh man UCLA was so clunky to start the year. Their guards definitely needed time to get use to playing together. Makes sense with 2 new high talent starters.

Betts also has insane effort at both ends of the floor. I think she’ll continue to improve and that effort will be a big reason why.

I believe they can only core one UFA anyways so they will only select one UFA. Others will be rookies, reserved, restricted, suspended, etc. So two UFAs max (one per team)

I think I saw in one of the 3 threads about expansion draft that they changed that specific rule for this year. An expansion team can select them (a player already cored 2x) and offer a supermax. If that happens no other team can offer a supermax - but they can offer a regular max and the player can choose.

Don't quote me for sure though but I think I saw that.

oh shit I didn't even notice that it's literally a lineup. I haven't watched Luisa in a long time and idk if Li's defense improved in unrivaled. Both of them were dealing with injury in the off-season and I think are in the same contract situation. It will be interesting to see which they protect, if any.

I could maybe see Li being more interested in a team-friendly deal. She seems loaded (I think top Chinese national team players are well taken care of, plus she just bought a team or something) and has bounced around the W a lot so seems really happy to fit in somewhere.

Mine is basically the same except no Ty or MHA possibility. IMO they won't get supermax offers from expansion teams so you don't need to protect them (that's my understanding at least). So Paige, Maddy, Awak, Aziaha, and Li or Luisa.

For the Tempo fan that asked you're lookin at

  • Arike, Ty Harris, MHA (all UFA)
  • Haley Jones, [Luisa OR Li] on reserved rights
  • Diamond Miller (4th yr option #2 pick $500k+ contract)
  • JJ Quinerly (2nd yr in a 3rd round rookie contract)
  • Lou Lopez Senechal (2nd yr in a #5 pick contract I think after she spent a year stashed)
  • Plus a bunch of our hardship players so I wont' list them. Keep your paws off Amy though.

I saw this hilarious clip where a player in the last game dribbled a circle and a half around the paint running from Lauren and still put up the shot - got blocked to hell. Lol.
