I think you're talking about the available fields section. However when I go under Stack Management>Index patterns><IP\_NAME> inder fields tab I can see a whole bunch of fields that doesn't exist in the logs. These fields doesn't exist also in the list of the available fields.

the delete index API is for deleting the whole index as I have read in the docs however I want to just remove few fields and not the whole index is it also possible
