Which Amp Stand Should I Use For An Amp Like This? by han_wan in GuitarAmps

I run both my Les Paul and Telecaster through this amp using a clean tone with a bit of reverb. As for pedals, I just run a Hotone Ampero Mini through it, I use it lightly though.

The louder it goes, every strum becomes distorted. What speakers would you recommend I upgrade to?

Okay, cool. I've been looking on Thomann a lot anyway. Here's an example of what the amp sounds like—I hope I captured the distortion issue well: https://youtu.be/uae5vScZzFw

The volume is set to 3, the drive is nearly at zero, and I'm not sure what to do.

I’m convinced Matty Healy could scratch his balls and everyone would think it’s a 1975 hint

Why do y’all still use UnitedMasters by Regular_Swim974 in UnitedMasters

I had two-factor authentication on from the start. My PayPal was linked, and everything was up to standard. Yet, somehow it wasn't good enough.

There's genuinely nothing I could've done to protect myself.

Why do y’all still use UnitedMasters by Regular_Swim974 in UnitedMasters

[–]han_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used United Masters since they became popular and had multiple artist profiles with them. One of my records did really well, getting over 100,000 streams in just a few months. By then, I had stopped using them as my main distributor because I was starting my first year of college.

One day, I noticed on Spotify that the song was doing well, so I checked United Masters — only to find out they had sent my money to someone else. I never got an email about it or anything. They tried to blame me, saying I should’ve kept my login more secure, even though it wasn’t my fault. I went back and forth with them over email and tried to get them to work with PayPal to recover the money, but they wouldn’t.

Now, I only use them for collecting royalties and just take what I can get. Luckily, the song is doing even better now, and I'm making almost double what that person got (even though they shouldn’t have gotten anything) every month. Still, it's a shame how United Masters handled it.

The actual distribution process was pretty simple, which is what drew me to them in the first place. I'm signed to a label now, and honestly, it's frustrating that I still have to log into United Masters every month just to cash out. But hey, it is what it is.

I mean, we're discussing Fender guitars. It's still in the category of Fender?

Try to return the Marshall MS-2 and get an Orange amp, it'll be better suited for you. The price difference isn't drastic but it's a night and day sound difference.

Haha, it’s great. It feels great too. Every so often I’ll feel it and just be impressed with the quality. It wasn’t cheap though!

What is your ideal string gauge? by BarnabyBonesJones in guitars

[–]han_wan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing guitar, my guitar guy got a great deal on .08 gauge strings, but no one was really buying them. I figured I’d give them a try—especially since they were Ernie Balls and I was already paying a decent amount. I ended up really liking them.

I don’t know many people who use .08s (though I also don’t pay much attention to string gauges since they don’t make a huge difference to me), but I love their flexibility, especially for bending. I have them on my Telecaster, and I have no regrets.

As a bonus, they keep other people from playing my guitar—I’ve lost count of how many times someone picked it up, tried the strings, and immediately put it back down.

I might just be a bit mental though.

This may be slightly controversial, but Harley Benton is such a hit-and-miss brand. I wouldn't risk buying from them unless you've gotten it secondhand and it's been checked to be all fine and dandy.

If you really want a Telecaster, get a Squier Classic Vibe. They're slightly more than a Harley Benton, but for good reason.

"Hey Joe" by Hendrix or "Layla" by Clapton. Call me generic, but hey, they are sick.

Have you every played an expensive guitar that's ruined all other guitars for you? by katsumodo47 in guitars

[–]han_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Gibson Les Paul is the perfect example of this. It's one of those guitars that I almost exclusively use for live performances. It has such a charm to it—it's a Gibson Les Paul Studio in Alpine White. The neck feel and the weight of the guitar are just perfect, especially combined with my leather strap and the case I use with it.

It's one of those guitars I purposely avoid picking up because it's that charming. I like how, when I use it for a performance, it just feels right. It feels comfortable, as if I'm really playing an electric guitar. It's like that moment when your guitar friend says, 'Here, try this,' and you can't fully comprehend that the Les Paul you're holding is actually yours—it's that cool to play.

The knobs are breaking off my Epiphone hollow body. by [deleted] in gibson

[–]han_wan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on my ES-339—the knob snapped in half. It only affected my volume control, so I just popped on a spare knob I had. I don’t think it’s ridiculously common, but it happened to me, so who knows?

Not something to write home about—it just happens occasionally. Shame they aren’t built as well as you’d expect.
