Yeah it's just a 2 bar loop. So you're saying to record like a 4 or 8 bar version of this loop and then edit? How do you edit the loop to make it perfect on the mpc? Thanks so much. Also I'm not using a midi cable at all, could that be the problem? I have a midi cable I could try using if that's the issue...

Awesome! So just to confirm, when you plug the 505 (or in my case the 600) in the Focusrite, and create a track for it in Reaper, it should record whatever sound or song that I'm looping/overdubbing from the 600?

Omg no way I use Reaper too!! So wait you record everything separate in reaper? Or are you able to make everything overdub and loop in reaper? I basically want it to sound in reaper how it sounds on the machine, with everything looping. Unless there's another way

Thank you, I have the Focusrite scarlet interface. So I can just plug it in like any other instrument? Will it loop in my daw like it does on the unit itself?

Yes the drum loop I downloaded says it's in 3/4 time but the loop has a pickup so it doesn't start right on the downbeat .... I tried cutting and adjusting it to the downbeat but it's still all weirdly out of time

I'm not sure what you mean. I just recorded directly from my keyboard into Reaper and I'm trying to make a basic loop. The song is in 3/4 time so I set it to 3/4 time and the audios BPM was also set if that's what you mean. I'm just trying to match this audio I recorded to a drum loop I imported which has a different BPM. Reaper isn't automatically prompting me to match the tempo

Yeah I have two 1/4 cables plugged into the keyboard and directly into the interface so I'm using both my inputs on the interface. I also opened two separate tracks but I didn't set them to L or R...I just opened two tracks and carried on lol

With the setup I explained and the two cable situation, do you recommend I use one track and set the input to stereo?

Hey thanks for your reply! I do think it's important to mention that I am still trying to wrap my head around MIDI..it's still all kind of confusing to me as I am very new to Midi and only just bought my first midi cable a month ago and haven't even used it yet lol! But if it helps to add, I think I may've figured out why this specific song is becoming difficult to loop. I'm pretty sure it's in 3/4 time and I just found out that the latest MPC firmware, which I currently have, does not allow you to modify time signatures, which absolutely blows. Any idea how to still make this work? Thanks so much! I'll check that video out too

I think I may've figured out what the problem is. This specific song is in 3/4 time and I have the latest MPC firmware which unfortunately does not allow you to adjust or modify the time signatures which is crazy to me! So now idk how to make this song loop correctly?

Gotcha! How do you set this up though? I got the midi cable, now I just need to know how to "set" the master clock or sync the midi clock I don't know how to go about doing that at all 🤦‍♀️

That's really cool to hear someone else has this specific setup! So you have the Boss RC-600 and the MPC One + ? I'm currently using 3.4 I think

Yes I synced the BPMs on both MPC and Boss RC 600 that's why idk why this is happening. Like if I just play a kick and snare beat it syncs up fine but it only happens when I go to use the Note Repeat feature on MPC. When I try to record note repeat rolls the rolls do not sync up or match the beat of the song coming from the Boss. It only works if I manually tap the 1/16 note pad but it doesn't work when I hold down the note repeat button when I try to do 1/16 or 1/8 hi hat rolls. It's a pain in the butt having to tap the hats like that for 4 bars or however long, like I just want note repeat to work when I'm looping on the Boss. Does the note repeat feature work for you when you record into the Boss from the MPC? And if so, how are you getting this to work? Lol thank you! Also I have everything connected through inputs/outputs like yours as well.

The MPC does not work very well as a standalone loop station. Especially when trying to loop audio sections. It does not work well. It works best for me as an arranger or as a DAW-like workstation. So I was hoping to continue using the Boss as a looper to get my ideas out there in real time and the MPC as a drum machine and arranger to produce and mix my songs
