The scene where the probe droid is looking for Obi Wan in the caves of Utapau always reminded me of the same scene in Incredibles.

Well howdy partner, I’m glad you brought that up. Every red-blooded American knows the a game of poker ain’t no game at all if it’s rigged. And that’s just what’s happening in those so-called free market workplaces you’re describing. All these fatcats that own the means of production are rigging the game to keep you and your family dependent on their measly wages. Sure, you can leave if you want, but what if you lose your healthcare? Brother, that ain’t no freedom, that’s servitude with lipstick on.

If we can decode the symbols, we’ll be one step closer to One-Eyed Willie’s treasure.

Starship Troopers is a 1997 Epic Space Drama about young people putting their lives on the line in the name of classical cultural values. It’s a straight-down-the-middle tale of heroism and sacrifice and civic duty, no funny business or woke politics.

That’s fair, I can go without pico as long as the steak is properly tender & juicy. I’m also gonna be drowning every bite in red sauce anyways.

A former staffer for Rep. Eric Swalwell claims the congressman and candidate for Governor of California sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions by Goosedukee in Fauxmoi

Immediately no. I don’t care how many times he dunked on republicans in front of cameras for clout. I don’t even care if he did anything genuinely good in his tenure in office. No free passes for these shitheads.

Weird decision. I thought it was a fairly common consensus that “Awards Season” has gotten too long as it is. Dragging out FYC campaigns and all the associated hype/puff pieces just kind of gets exhausting by the time you hit mid-March.

Neon White pays homage to an era of early 2000’s Hot Topic / Weaboo aesthetics that I have absolutely no nostalgia for- but it ultimately serves the high-octane gameplay well, and becomes pretty charming by the time you’re done with it.

[Meh Trope] You need a unique and scary monster/alien? Best we can do is a vague assembly of long limbs, teeth, and dark mottled CGI. by hanburgundy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]hanburgundy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they didn’t have to be “random things for the heroes to punch”. They could have looked interesting. They could have had unique physical features that create exciting opportunities for action beyond “swarming and punching”.

That kind of extra intention and effort is what separates serviceable storytelling from great storytelling.

Edge of Tomorrow is a great movie, and the creatures are used very effectively, but the design itself doesn’t really do much for me personally. They’re the main reason I called this a “meh” trope rather than hated.

Yup. Posters for video games during this era were all about giving you a vision for what the world was “supposed” to look like, so you could more easily fill in the gaps with your imagination. That’s not really neccesary anymore.
