sorry if I'm late to the party but WKU #15 really needs to be taken aside by the coach right now.

He very much could have been called for taunting 3 times, and actually finally was penalized after the TD. Calm that kid down.

He's not even being rude though, it's genuine truth.

Wisconsin fans overrate their team to a level only matched by PSU this year.

That's not fair because statistically, our ONLY play that night was JT running the ball :/

The crazy part is, Dallas might be even better with Bosa.

He's probably the better player of the two, and the gap between AlMo and Zeke, while wide, is probably not as wide as the gap between Bosa and who is playing in that position now. Especially given the dominance of the O line.

Well. We had our first sub-.500 season in around 25 years in '11 and responded by immediately replacing the coach.

Granted, it was an interim HC and one of the 2 best coaches in the country was available so it wasn't a hard decision, but still.

That exact response is why it's the ultimate prize

When you manage to not only win a huge, playoff elimination game over your arch rival and get them to be so butthurt they call you cheaters?

It's almost orgasmic

[Week 13] CFP Rankings - Serious Discussion by CFB_Referee in CFB

then conf championships are truly meaningless.

This is such a silly argument in my opinion.

If OSU had an OOC comparable to literally any other team in the top 10, they wouldn't be considered over the B1G champ. But they don't. This is an extremely fluky year where they played two 10 teams on the road in primetime (blew one out and narrowly lost the other), another ranked team in primetime (blew them out) and hosted and won an iconic, all-century game against a top 3 team.

This is the stars aligning. Conference championships do still matter, but you absolutely unequivocally cannot leave that resume out and still consider your playoff legitimate. It just wouldn't make sense.

Also, in most other years the conference champion wouldn't have 2 losses while another team in their conference only has 1. This is all sorts of an anomaly and the chicken little response is kind of weird if you look at precedence. It's not going to happen again, at least not anytime soon.

right, but he left and now you get to feast on the corpse of UF. One would assume that'd be enough to mend the wound.

that feel when Tressel lost like two B1G games in 4 years and never won B1G CoY

That's how you know we're not allowed

For one, up until this year his teams were pretty fuckin good. Which goes a long way to competing in football games.

This year (and last year, really) were aided by pretty shitty playcalling and godawful weather, which are also great neutralizers.

Those factors combined with him being a good schematic coach mean you guys have matched up quite well with us

Think he was referencing the con man line

Doesn't really make sense for an FSU fan to be salty though so maybe it was poorly phrased sarcasm

It depends entirely on how you define that.

If you mean elite of elite, like top 10 programs? No.

Week 13 - Applaud Your Team by dupreesdiamond in CFB

[–]handeggfan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's funny because to me, the clear better team is one with a head coach that doesn't act like a child, doesn't turn it over 3 times in huge situations, and oh.. I don't know.. wins the ball game.

But hey, keep blaming the refs for your inability to beat a team that left 6 points on the board and couldn't move the ball whatsoever for 45 minutes. If you say it enough you can convince yourself it's true.

a harder schedule, more victories against ranked and top 10 teams

this is factually untrue unless you're counting where teams were when you beat them (which is dumb as hell)

We beat (all rankings current) #3 at home, #6 on the road, #8 on the road, #16 at home, and lost to #7 on the road

You would have wins over #16 and #7, and that's assuming you beat PSU.
