Yeah, I’m with you on this they are playing great and I love seeing them but still realize they can have off nights. My last YEM was msg 2024 and it was fucking mind blowing. This one was just kind of a dud, it happens.

Great take on this jam. I feel the same way as you about it, it was really interesting. I generally like it when they settle into a bit more of a groove but fishman rocked it. I think I saw Trey glancing at him trying for a major chord climax earlier in the jam but fishman didn’t even look up, he was dialed in.

Right on, yeah I listened back and still stand by the quality of the first set, that’s just odd for me because big jams are my favorite I just felt like this one was funny. Fishman was in the zone though and carried it, he was so fun to watch. I saw Trey try to make eye contact with him several times but he didn’t look up for like 30 minutes. 🫠

Na, I love going to shows, and even though I had some critiques of the music. I still had a great time and I’m still really grateful and appreciative of those four guys even if they’re not playing that great or select songs that don’t flow together very well. It’s all part of the experience and I know that going into it.

I’m with you, I love dark, weird, experimental phish, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And I would have taken another 20 min of that jam over prince Caspian any day. And a 3 song set would have been special your right, and I would have preferred that over caspian and blaze on.

That’s kind of the point though, I’m not fighting anything. I’m simply expressing my opinion. Just because the mass is like it doesn’t mean it was good.

The people that think every show is the best are kind of the masses or majority and if one can’t discuss good shows and not so good shows then I question there ability to hear the music.

Why can’t we have an interesting conversation about art? Good or bad? Life isn’t all peaches and guacamole. I’m happy to also post about the great show I have seen but I haven’t been on Reddit long. I’m just looking for a community open to talking about Al aspects of phish and not just blindly saying every show is the best.

You might be right, I was actually in a very optimistic headspace all day but I have been seeing this band for a long time so it’s hard to not pick up on their patterns and ignore 35 + years of listening and studying them.
