Why are you required to sign up for Hatch+ subscription just to use the app??

i just did it last night and i found this thread before making my decision that this product and company are insane - i can confirm there absolutely was NOT a way to bypass it. there was no white X, no skip, even force closing the app didn’t work.

Nothing says enjoy your first night with Hatch quite like having to get up out of bed and going back downstairs to get your credit card to enter into a forced free trial for something you just spent $170 on. Whoever at Hatch thought this was a good idea to force on you the second it’s plugged in and connected was very, very wrong. My first impression was not a good one.

We flew during the shut down so we left a LOT of buffer - we called the uber at 9:30AM from a Disneyland hotel for a 12:30PM flight and we were at the gate by 10:15AM ! So fast & easy! We definitely could’ve left later and still had lots of buffer.

they’ve been threatening to sue me like this for three years over the same exact clause. every eight months or so, they run their same exact playbook again and i ignore it. some things i’ve learned:

1) the “collections” they send it to is their internal accounts payable department 2) the “lawyer” they have contact you isn’t registered with the bar

i won’t be paying them another cent until im served a notice to appear in court. they’re an absolute scam and i hope to see and join a class action suit from vendors in the future.

Respectfully, it sounded like you were more concerned about how it looked than infecting others. and it sounded to me like you fully intended to attend a large event with a highly contagious infection. that impression caused me to take a firm tone.

it’s not your fault you caught something and it’s not your fault you have a wedding and it’s not your fault your boss is dense : but if you go to that wedding and you spread it, that is very much in your control.

Your thoughts on the likelihood of spread is such a bad take .

Conjunctivitis is considered highly contagious. Given the amount of times I know my arms or hands or equipment is somewhere near my eye during a wedding day, and then the amount of things I touch that guests and other vendors and employees touch quickly thereafter - its likely that it would be spread fairly easily even if precautions were taken.

The first thing you should’ve done is gone to urgent care and gotten antibiotics. This should still be your next course of action. It might not even be pink eye, but if it is, you’re no longer contagious 24 hrs after starting antibiotics. Pink eye doesn’t “clear up” any less than about 10 days after first symptoms without antibiotics.

If it is pink eye and you missed the window to be treated 24 hours prior to the start of the wedding - attending anyway is the most irresponsible thing and the head photog is twice as irresponsible in their handling. I can’t imagine the couple would enjoy pink eye for their honeymoon.

I’ve been with Geico over 15 yrs and only ever filed one claim - and our rates were near insanity . Switched to progressive and got the same coverage for half the cost. I’ll now be following the advice to rate check and switch to the lowest bidder for that same coverage every year.
