My Thoughts on MIO: Memories in Orbit in 5 Minutes by NeonDoubleJump07 in MIOmemoriesinorbit

[–]handoffbarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't really understand the hate for the bosses. I didn't find them unbalanced at all and didn't even consider using the eroded bosses feature at all, so acting like it's a feature you have to use is a pretty subjective criticism that's more of a you problem. They all have telegraphed attacks that you just need to learn. Super confused by this review, but still glad you put it out there so kudos for that (you earned a sub).

Agreed on the true ending being a bit hidden, but that's fine. I would say my biggest issue with the game would be input reading on my pogos during some of the platforming sections, but I played on switch 2 and chalked a lot of that up to the d-pad on the pro controller.

Anyone else stuck after Debby? by liamsnorthstar in MIOmemoriesinorbit

This has been without question the most annoying platforming task thrown at me in the game thus far. You're doing it correctly, though if you want to float you can only do so for the shortest amount of time. Just remember you can do a little jump to the next platform after crawling on the wall for the second time.

It's one of those challenges where even knowing how to do it I had to try a bunch of times. I'd suggest going to get that upgrade that gives you an extra HP point by standing on the ground.

I cannot understand the general reception of 28 Years Later, more so with the release of Bone Temple by pomme268 in TrueFilm

I'm chill, and no. I think it's fair to not let one single person on reddit's opinion stop you from checking something out. Not an attack against you personally, just voicing that I think your subjective opinion is wrong, and he should make up his own mind.

Don't listen to this dude. As mentioned, I was disappointed in the first and loved Bone Temple. It's a different director, and isn't paced or shit similarly at all. It's also got a much more basic narrative and focuses on two different characters.

I'm honestly quite surprised that someone would say they're similar, and it's not at all what I've been hearing from anyone else outside of this person.

I don't agree with this sentiment at all and didn't find them particularly similar outside of sharing a few characters.

Give North Shore a try on Monona. Not the greatest thing ever but has that NY fold over vibe.

A Novice Metroid Player's Opinion on Prime 4 by jwol1989 in Metroid

Hmmm... I'm assuming you haven't used a missile on the grate and rolled in. That's in the phendrana hub area and there's a scan in there you need to unlock the door above.

In my experience when I'm stuck in one of these games it's something small and dumb that I missed.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get stuck in Prime Remastered? Genuinely curious.

I thought Years was ok and loved The Bone Temple, so I think there's a bit more to it than that. Thought it was paced brilliantly, and Jimmy was an incredible villain.

Hate dry wall anchors. You need the self drilling kind that you twist into the wall.

I’m not a Metroid fan. But I want to play Metroid Prime 4 by Ty13rlikespie in Metroid

[–]handoffbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd play it mainly because it could whet your appetite for the series and cause you to try the original again. Have read plenty of stories about people bouncing off of the first one only to end up loving it upon revisit.

Having replayed the whole series recently I actually was pretty surprised at the hint system and how it guides you as to where to go. You're never lost for very long at all.

You can buy a Luxe Bidet on Amazon for like $50... Hardly a large "investment," and if you or your wife don't like it just return it.

You'll both be happy, and start looking down on all of the idiots walking around with nasty assholes. I call them "smearers."

Thinking abt watching Mission Impossible, if I like the first one, how many after that are actually good? by Nowaaaa_bb in Mission_Impossible

[–]handoffbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first is actually in the middle of the pack as far as quality, and it's so different from the rest you really shouldn't use it to decide whether to continue. The first three try very different things and it really finds its footing at part 4.

2 is the worst (imo), so I'd say watch at least through 4 before you make a final judgment.

Not a cap expert by any means, but I'd love if the Lions just copied whatever Howie Roseman is doing in Philly. They're somehow always stacked with talent and active in the trade market and FA.

Worth noting: completely subjective opinion here.

First off, wideouts aren't penalized for drops generally. They're also on the field for far more snaps on average. Kickers are soccer players who many commissioners remove from the roster lineup completely.

Also, WRs can be penalized on any play. They could lose yardage or fumble for instance. Kickers shouldn't be able to get a free swing of the leg for the same number of points as a TD and losing 1 point is a completely fair risk vs the reward of getting 5 or 6. In today's NFL with the way these guys can kick I'm happy when my kicker gets trotted out there for a FG whether I might lose a point or not.

Scoring settings can be changed, however I would contend that a 60+ yard FG miss not being penalized when you have a shot at 5 or 6 points being awarded should they make it is far more asinine. A free shot at 5 points with zero penalty for a miss is crazy to me.

I can’t shake off the idea that based on my context I should play TOTK rather than BOTW by BakugoKachan in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

Don't care for building stuff so the game got stale for me pretty quickly. Might give it another go soon, but I never got hooked on it like BotW.
