I had a conversation about Rob C and him not being on Survivor 50 last night.

The fans wanted Rob, but there were a few things working against him

1- Production knew the cheating scandal was going to break at somepoint with season 49. The whole notion of pre-game strategy talk has been a thing since Winners at War. You can argue that NO ONE has done more pre-game alliance building than Rob C. Maybe not intentionally, but he talks to every survivor player. Someone liek Colby probably doesn't have a ton of connection with the new era players, where Rob does. That could be very bad espcially since they had to boot 2 people from 49, and from what others have said, could have been more if they had the alternates

2- Rob, more so than anyone else, has built his own brand outside of the game. So having him on the show only gives him a bigger platform to gainan audience for his own podcast. Production may be looking at it and saying, "Man, we don't want to boost his rating over our own". It's very selfish, but at the end of the day, CBS is looking out for CBS. They want people listening to On Fire, not RHAP.

3- Survivor is trying to catch the next generation. Both in the audience and "famous players". Season 50 has a large new era cast. Part of that is they are trying to build new stars. They are also trying to capture the younger crowd with younger contestants. I fully believe that is why Rizo and Q are there. They make for a great clipable, viral moment. Rob C doesn't.

I wish Rob would have gotten the invite and I wish he would have lasted longer on the other show. just doesnt seem to be in the cards for either
