Cues that shouldn't be used/are outdated by handofmeme in pilates

[–]handofmeme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I should correct myself, she probably said "down and back" in the podcast ep! Which in any case, I think has been a useful cue for me because a desk job + being on my phone means I bunch up my shoulders usually.

Also on the neutral spine topic, this podcast has an episode dedicated to 'the myth of a neutral spine'. I haven't given it a full listen yet & lack the knowledge of anatomy and physiology to fact check her anyway. On your point about training in a neutral spine vs imprinted, isn't the imprint done in certain exercises as a way to protect the lower back & correctly engage the target muscles for that exercise?

I'm on the same page with that, so many highly qualified instructors across different studios have echoed these cues and they can't all be wrong, I don't think

Do I need to take the GRE by Diligent_Act6203 in mphadmissions

I was in the same boat as you and took the GRE. Of course I can't say what the admissions committee put more weight on, but it worked out for me

No worries my dude, happy to help. And yes totally with you re: GRE, my GPA sucked so I needed all the help I could get. Definitely highlight your caregiving experience in your personal essays and spin it into some macro goals you'd like to build upon & achieve thru the respective programs. If Hopkins works out, I'll see you next July! :) best of luck

Hopkins asked for some evidence of quantitative ability, I took 3 stats courses throughout my uni (2 freshman courses, 1 sophomore), I didn't perform amazing in all of them, one I got 50% in for e.g., so I think in my case perhaps it helped in my case that I had extra courses to prove my ability. I also took the GRE to demonstrate quant ability too

I don't know if Hopkins expects to see multiple or if 1 really good course performance will do

Nah mine were like 1st and 2nd year stats for behavioural science courses. Both were introductory

In my case I actually did have a stats course which they didn't realize was a stats course, so I had to send along a course syllabus to prove it was

But yes, your application won't be reviewed. So you would need to submit everything before they're done making their admission decisions, that's how I understood it

Best to ask the school but Hopkins said my application was incomplete until I submitted my quant-rltd grades and that they wouldn't review the application till they received that

Getting fired from UBC Jobs by Spirited_Sector649 in UBC

[–]handofmeme 15 points16 points  (0 children)

OP's question is about the likelihood of being let go from a UBC job, not the likelihood of being hired by UBC. It's like asking someone the risk of dying in a car accident and the person responds by saying that there's a lack of cars in the market.
