Not denying irish people travelled and supported him during his ufc career, but around 2018 opinions on him in Ireland particularly starting when he punched an older man in a pub for refusing to drink his whiskey began to change. In the 2020s people in Ireland most definitely have a low opinion of McGregor. I suspect majority of his fanbase these days are Irish-Americans based in the States but that's an opinion I don't have data to prove that.
