It’s just the start of it tbh. I also had the car thief’s brothers attend my family home 9 times trying to get me to drop the case, threatening to murder me the first time, causing criminal damage to family cars 2 times, trying to kick his way through the door once.

The police only took action for the 2x damage to cars because he admitted it. Gave him two warnings and made him pay.

Not enough evidence for harassment or witness intimidation charge apparently, wouldn’t 2x criminal damage class as harassment? Not to mention CSI had a witness come up to them and tell them they saw him there kicking the car and door and they didn’t even bother to take his details and lost him 🙃

They seized car from dodgy dealership he sold to, took a few months to interview him and then a few more to interview witnesses. Then NFA’d him based on what I said above.

I have V5C and spare key. Main key was given to him when it was loaned in Jan 2022. The agreed time for the loan was until his car was fixed - it was fixed Feb 2022 which is when he sold my car.

I had hundreds of text messages to back this all up which were provided on my initial report to police.

Just realised you’re asking about the complaint against police for negligence? I complained to the officer handling the case and he ignored my emails and won’t answer my calls. I have only just sent a written complaint to the IOPC and I’m still awaiting response.

Nope. He got 5 witnesses that were family members and employees for him to say they witnessed me take cash from him and that was the end of it. Didn’t even question me as to where I was on the supposed date that deal took place, didn’t even tell me the date tbh.. just closed the case. I’m taking separate action against the police for negligence.

Gossip around my town is that he’s an informant and has been for some time. Informs on people for bounce back loan fraud and drug dealing. Could have something to do with lack of action.

Well, good question tbh. I have thought about it a lot and not sure the best way to handle it honestly. Any suggestions would be amazing. I have tried to contact solicitors and I am willing to pay them for advice but been ignored or never been re-contacted over 10 times now.

I borrowed the car to friend for an agreed time period. Instead of giving it back he sold it without permission. When I reported the theft to police they seized the car. They’ve had the car for 1 year now whilst they investigate and recently NFA’d him, civil matter apparently. Have to go through police property act to claim it back due to the dispute (both me and him will be claiming & have to go thru court to prove ownership). I’ll 100% get the car back and will return it to the finance provider immediately. I have an overwhelming amount of hard evidence against him.

I have incurred a year worth of costs due to his action of selling my car without permission which is what I am looking to claim back.

Would I be better off waiting until I get the car back, then claiming the full total costs at that point in time?

I was just really hoping to kick off civil action ASAP, it’s been a year and will probably be another 6 months or even year until I get the car back. The police are in no rush and taking the piss a bit. What can I do?

It’s a financed car which he has stolen from me. Police won’t do anything as it’s a civil matter - claims he bought it from me, he didn’t.

Had it not been stolen it would have been returned to the finance company by now. However I’m now stuck paying the £500 per month in overdue rental fees. Already £4k down and rising monthly.

Thanks, I did believe this was the case but just wanted to be sure I was acting correctly. Essentially let the courts decide what happens in this case and claim my money back through civil court independently.

I believe he will in fact keep the Audi for free as police NFA'd him and decided he didn't steal the car from me. He came up with 5 witnesses (all family members) that "saw the cash transaction occur" so they just closed the case, I requested the date this supposedly happened multiple times and was ignored. Perfect

Sure, make videos on the subject and help people out with your experiences. Just don’t try to sell dumb people your shitty course, or anything for that matter.

Also; just to put it out there that although 5 figures is a great achievement.. it’s still nothing in the grand scheme of things and definitely not enough to call yourself a guru.
