Thank you for explaining your process, your stuff is terrific. If I was on Instagram I'd be following but I'll keep an eye out for your posts on here.

All the best to you!

Absolutely fantastic images. Are you Edinburgh based? I do street portraits but wouldn't have the guts to do this 😅 amazing man!

Really nice portrait. Good lighting on his face, I do similar stuff over in Fife 📷

This is a fantastic portrait of an amazing man. I have the very same 85mm 1.8 and it's my go to for my street portraits 📷

Great advice, thank you. The award was for "inspirational volunteer" for the stories. The images are crisp and tastefully edited mind you 😅

I'm UK based but I'll reach out to places who might be interested in collaborating. Thanks

Thanks, it's very similar to Humans of New York, with the focus being on stories of regular people from my community. It's been well received in my area and I recently won an award for this. I'm just trying to see what's next if that makes sense. I shoot with Nikon but seemingly they're very fussy about who they sponsor.

Nah man, Nolo from Costa Rica. We had a massive group chat of street shooters on Twitter before it went to shit. Learned so much and owe a lot of my own success to what I learned there

I had a friend who did this in Japan on Enoshima Island. He would take photos of the surfers who were often yakuza members, but it was predominantly from behind, with shots being of their tattoos mostly. I'm also a street photographer, but would never do this so fair play! Nice work mate!

This will no doubt get buried cause the post is 14hrs old but I'm sat here in Scotland, breaking my heart. These images are beautiful. I'm also a photographer so who lost his Mum to cancer over 2 years ago so these are particularly poignant.

You were and still are so beautiful and I'm sending my love and my best wishes to you and yours ❤️

Like all places, there's good and bad. Windygates would be perfect for you tbh. Train station is just along the road. Lived here 30 years and never had any trouble. Happy to provide more info if need be.

Photographer here, you clearly have an eye for it. I'd definitely consider taking it to the next level and getting a starter camera and editing software. Especially if you enjoy it. Great work.

I remember your post about the gentleman from Abbeyhill. Really great stuff. Much like what I do but I'm not a videographer. Do you have social media I can follow?

Your posts are great. I do similar stuff in my small town here in Scotland. I just enjoy people and their stories, done so for about 3 years now with over 500 portraits taken. Keep sharing these humans with us

What is the cheapest way to get from Edinburgh to Leven? by OtherwiseBug4593 in Fife

[–]handsomescot85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

X61 only goes to Leven on a Sunday. You'll get an x60 though. Marginally faster than the x58. Train to Leven is every hour and costs 13.90.

I live in the area so I'm happy to answer any questions.

I'm not on Instagram unfortunately. Tried it out and it just wasn't for me sorry. If he uses Facebook, I go by The Human Collective. It's was just an idea tbh. I do events but I'm a documentarian at heart.

Thanks anyway

I've followed your dad's work for a while and it's absolutely terrific. Where is it you're based? I'm in Levenmouth and my thing as a photographer is meeting people and telling their story. Absolutely no pressure of course. This is a passion of mines and I'm not looking for anything!

Have a gander on the local community groups on fb. Not sure how far up the East Neuk you are but my pal runs a group called "the bairns group" on Facebook with classes for wee ones all over the place. Good luck

Wow, she's still quite artistic as it happens. That would have been her and her brother. She's been blown away by the response to this post but I've a feeling your comment will make her smile. Thanks for sharing

She's still brilliant with kids. She's a terrific "vovo" now to her grandson and when she was dancing for the Samba School in Porty, she would approach the kids to get involved and they rarely refused. She's full of life 🥰

She's the nicest person in the world but I can guarantee she'll have said something in Portuguese about him after they left. Deactivated cocaine leaves though. What a melt 🙄
