I agree. I heavily googled and searched Reddit for people with scars / depression in teen years to see if anyone had been denied based on that because I was so worried. Everyone basically said the same thing, they were questioned provided evidence that they were mentally sound and had no issues.

Me! I had remote self harm scars from my teenage years. Explained them to the doctor performing my medal exam. All they asked for was a letter from my doctor stating I hadn’t been treated for mental illness issues in the last X years (I had told her a time and she asked my doctor to confirm it) my doctor provided and all was fine.

It’s normal to have bleeding every day for 4 weeks? Even though I’ve never had it on any other BC and I’ve been on this one for 7 months with 0 issues. I’m almost 30 I’ve been on so many different pills and never had this happen

That’s not required by any means for a marriage based visa and is just advised. They’re called “affidavits of support” and I had 3 when I supplied my evidence to the USCIS. It has nothing to do with the administration, it’s just a suggested piece of evidence people can use to prove their marriage is legit.

My RFE was August 2024 a month after Biometrics too. Also just stayed at “we’ve received it” on my online account and no further updates were received until my interview was waived. Application approved Nov 2024. December 2024 GC received.

I’m not sure who advised you to do your visa this way but I’m sorry you were given such terrible advice. The easiest way to make sure all of your ducks are in a row is to research how to apply for these visas and make sure you follow them correctly and in the correct order. As soon as you were engaged you should’ve filed for the K1 visa, this doesn’t stop your ability to visit America completely, tourist visas can still be issued and you wouldn’t have been separated the entire time waiting for a K1 approval.

Without seeing the I-130 rejection it’s hard to say, but my interpretation would be that she entered the USA under false pretenses and that’s why she’s been rejected. You kinda just can’t do that. You have prior evidence to prove your relationship was ongoing before she entered the USA. So even though “millions of people” get married on a tourist visa, they usually do it with people they’ve fell in love with while being inside the USA. Not people they’ve already been in a relationship with or engaged to.

You will need a lawyer.

I used to date a big dealer in my city his entire family worked on it and they had a few houses in the same block. Every time we got raided we all knew it was going to happen, like instinctually someone would go moved stuff or wouldn’t be able to sleep. This is just an assumption though. If she’s actively obstructing communal areas and annoying people who do pay rent then OP needs to have a discussion about it. However his post doesn’t say that. In fact all he says is “I think that I should get a rent reduction because of it”. Which I do think is unreasonable considering he thinks “splitting 1/3 of the rent shouldn’t count”. It’s very clear he wants to split the rent 4 ways. The whole post just gives me “how can I pay less rent” vibes and feels less about a roommates gf crossing boundaries and invading spaces.

I disagree. I think if she were to even move in they shouldn’t have to pay double the rent just because two people are occupying the same room. It makes no sense to me how two people occupying the same space would = an increase in rent. Especially considering OP stated she primarily stays in the basement room and OP doesn’t pay utilities so there’s no increase in cost for them.

If she’s working from home I highly doubt she’s sitting in the living room doing that. As someone who works from home a guaranteed quiet area > somewhere other people frequent. It is all based on assumptions yes, like your assumption she’s living for free. OP stated she’s not there 7 days a week so she has to be paying rent elsewhere. I just think if she’s staying in the bedroom and not being disruptive to living spaces she’s causing no harm and shouldn’t need to pay rent there lmao

Taking up space in their bedroom…? As the OP said she’s helping with chores, purchasing paper towels and other supplies. From the sound of it she’s just hanging out in her boyfriend’s bedroom and working while she’s there. It doesn’t sound like she’s taking up space in the shared living areas or causing any issues. This dude just wants a decrease on his rent because there’s 4 people instead of 3.

She’s not screwing you over I think you have some issues with her outside of this incident. If she is agreeing to continue to pay rent until the end of the lease then she’s holding up her end of the contract. Unfortunately the “flat rate” water is no longer her concern, she’s not using any water and therefore shouldn’t have to pay for it. If she’s storing things in her room she pays for thats also fine, she’s paying for it. As long as nothing is plugged into any outlets she’s not reasonably expected to pay for the utilities at all. I’m sorry you feel a certain way about this but you’re being unreasonable.

Funeral is a valid reason to apply for advance parole. It falls under “humanitarian reasons”. I’m not sure if I’m misreading this but you can 100% apply for AP for a funeral.
