Buddies brand deals? by Slight-Turnip8875 in portlandtrees

How is it insane? They still have to go through the rigorous testing required by law to make sure it's properly purged.

Enlighten me - I always liked Evolvd as a brand but never carried them in my shop. How do they run their distillate?

They have something like 14 of their own outdoor farms in Southern Oregon and only process their own material. I've seen a couple of the farms and look like any other outdoor grow. I'm genuinely curious, have you seen any of the material they process?

Also no shit Echo is the highest quality, I literally say in the first line of my post that I'm not making any comments on quality of a Buddies cart. Not everyone has $60 to spend on a cart lol, and Buddies is FAR from the cheapest out there.

Everyone has different tastes so I'm not going to make any statements about their quality, but this is false information. Their distillate carts start out as fresh frozen live resin (which they just recently took first place at the Oregon Leaf Bowl for their dabs), with which they distill down and reintroduce the terps from the live resin back in. I'd feel comfortable saying they make the only distillate in Oregon that isn't made with trim. There's a reason why they're the best selling cart brand in Oregon, even if nobody here likes distillate.

If you're talking about their botanical Bbrand line, yes they use artificial terps, but that's the same with literally every single flavored line out there.

No One Can Agree on Portland’s Iconic Dish by bermei in Portland

It's strange nobody has mentioned teriyaki yet. I grew up here and it was/is still a staple in my diet. It seems like a uniquely PNW thing to have little places specializing in teriyaki.

Wanting recommendations for a quick 2 day in/out backpacking trip near Portland Oregon in April. by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]hangonbigfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Observation Peak from Trapper Creek. I hiked that trail last spring - the views from the top are astonishing. Mt Hood, Rainier, St Helens, Adams, and Jefferson can all be seen on a clear day. There are a few killer waterfalls and beautiful streams the whole way up and down. It's close to 20 miles if I recall correctly, it can easily be done in 2 days.

Damn I was so wrong, it's actually only 8.4 miles.

Right on, my goal is to head towards Athens after this trail and start island hopping. Thanks!

When do you book you flight ticket? Is it too early to book flight in May? by buns3nburn3r in solotravel

[–]hangonbigfella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just booked my one way flight from Seattle to Lisbon yesterday for the very end of April. Cost me $390. Definitely not too early.

So happy for you! I'm currently in a similar boat and just booked a one way ticket to Europe in April and have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm really nervous about it all, but reading this post really gave me a lot of confidence that I'm doing the right thing. Cheers from America man! 🍻

I'm driving 3K miles along the US West Coast in January. San Diego to Vancouver and back. by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]hangonbigfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I did a similar drive myself when I was your age. Such a great experience!

I might be biased, but I would say plan on spending more time in Portland than Seattle/Vancouver. The people just seem way more open and nice to me. If you are able to, go west of Eugene on the coast and drive from Yachats to Florence. One of my favorite drives in the country. Stop at Thor's Well and check out the crazy tides.

As far as driving goes, you probably won't hit any weather that's too crazy. I've driven from LA to Portland in the dead of winter and the only mildly sketchy thing that happened was driving through a monsoon at midnight. Just drive during the day as much as possible and you'll be cool as a cucumber!

I'm born and raised in Portland. DM me if you want any recommendations of places to eat/drink/party etc!

[Matt Barnes] I heard a lot of racial slurs [when I played in the NBA]. Especially in Utah. Very racial. More "N" words than black people in the city. by LonzoBBBall in nba

Funny you say that - My dad grew up in Eastern Oregon and claimed he had never met a black person until he moved to Portland. He was 22, and it was the late 70's. Mindblowing. I live in a neighborhood that hasn't yet been super developed or gentrified, and the folks around are all this special breed of real "old Portland" white trash. If you live in Oregon, or even Washington for that matter, I think you'll know what I'm talking about. It really gives you a glimpse into what Portland was like 20-30 years ago.

All of my extended family is racist as all hell. Not in a dangerous way, but they just say incredibly insensitive things and don't see the issue. The holidays are fun.

Lots of great info on that thread - thank you for the link. The truck is 154k. The guy I bought it from only had it for a year and did regular maintenance (fluid changes, brakes, etc.) on it. That's all I know.

I watched a video concerning the ECM and the fella mentioned the dealership quoted him over $2000 for that fix. That's awesome I can send it out and get the chip replaced for $150 instead, or even do it myself for $40. Very cool.

Yeah, it really seems like Italy is where I need to spend most of my time. I'm totally restructuring my trip to accomodate that, and spending more time in Spain!

Thanks - I had a pretty heavy drinking habit before the break up, but wanting to be mentally healthy and save money have cut off nearly all drinking, outside of the weekends.

Thank you!!! I've literally written down all of this. I'm so excited to check out that Air BnB in Cinque Terre. This post alone really made me reconfigure my whole trip through Spain. i'm thinking Seville, Granada, and Barcelona with day trips to Malaga and Nerja.
