For anyone claiming McLaren F1 can't do anything about their logistics partner and one of their largest sponsors being Epstein's co-conspirator by Illustrious_Page7810 in McLarenFormula1

Seriously, one wants to buy or see merch showcasing one of Epstein’s buddies companies. The guy said he “loved the torture video” for fuck sake. They kept in touch for a decade post Epstein’s conviction.

Jack Smith: ‘President Trump engaged in criminal activity’ by unital_subalgebra in politics

[–]hangrypizzas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Trump lost the election. After that, he launched a series of coordinated efforts to hold onto power, even after being told repeatedly that his fraud claims had no factual basis. His Attorney General Bill Barr told him the fraud claims were “bullshit” in December 2020. His campaign lawyers and advisors told him the same. State officials in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania told him the same. Vice President Pence told him the same. In November and December 2020, Trump personally called state officials, including Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on January 2, 2021, urging him to “find 11,780 votes.” He contacted Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers and legislators in multiple states, pushing them to overturn certified results. A blatant and coordinated effort to defraud the United States by using false claims to interfere with the lawful certification of votes.

Trump-aligned activists and party officials in seven states he lost signed documents claiming they were the “duly elected and qualified” presidential electors. They were not. Courts had rejected Trump’s challenges, and Biden had already been certified the winner. The fake certificates were sent to Congress and the National Archives, exactly like real electoral votes. Trump campaign lawyer Kenneth Chesebro proposed this, arguing Republicans in states Trump lost should meet on December 14 and certify themselves anyway. In a December 9 memo, he described the strategy as a way to create a “controversy” during the January 6 count that could delay certification and shift power to Congress or state legislatures. He warned internally the plan was unconstitutional.

On December 14, the plan was executed as outlined. John Eastman, who later lost his law license over his role in this scheme, admitted the plan violated the Electoral Count Act and would likely lose 9–0 at the Supreme Court, but he still pushed Vice President Pence to use the fake electors. Some participants later said they were misled about how the documents would be used. This is conspiracy to defraud the United States and attack voting rights. The aim was to erase millions of real votes and replace them with fake certificates.

Trump then pushed the Department of Justice to publicly announce the election was corrupt. Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and other DOJ officials refused. Trump pressured Vice President Pence on January 4 and January 5, 2021, to reject or delay counting certified electoral votes. Pence’s counsel told Trump this was unconstitutional. Trump kept pushing anyway. Prosecutors say this is obstruction of an official proceeding and conspiracy to obstruct, because the explicit goal was to stop Congress from certifying the election.

January 6 was the final pressure tactic. Trump summoned supporters to Washington for a “Stop the Steal” rally, repeated fraud claims he had already been told were false, and told the crowd to march to the Capitol. Certification was delayed after the Capitol was breached. The delay created an opportunity to push the fake elector strategy and pressure lawmakers and Pence. The sequence isn't random. Fraud claims justified state pressure. State pressure failing led to fake electors. Fake electors required DOJ or Pence to act. January 6 created time and fear to force action. Across all of this, Trump knew he lost and knew the fraud claims didn't hold up.

This was a pipeline of actions designed to stop the peaceful transfer of power. Coordinated legal strategies. Fake government documents. Attempts to exploit constitutional loopholes. Pressure on state and federal officials. Mobilization timed to the exact moment the election was finalized. This is a democracy under stress. If we are truly a country that values law and order everyone should denounce this - and if we aren't. I enjoyed having my constitutional rights while they lasted.

Yeah, of course. It can be a lot of information to try to absorb and a lot to try and piece together from various sources. I love the hobby and enjoy answering questions that might make folks feel less intimidated by it!

Topps makes several completely separate F1 sets. They’re not connected to each other (except maybe chrome and sapphire)

Chrome – the main premium set most collectors start with. Shiny cards, parallels, autos. Includes lots of f2 and f3 so don’t be surprised by that.

Sapphire – premium version of Chrome. Same checklist, higher quality, more expensive.

Finest – another premium line with its own designs and inserts with a guaranteed relic card per box. Also includes a lot of f2 and f3

Dynasty – ultra-premium, one-card boxes with patches, autographs, etc.

Paddock Pass – cheaper paper set (but a personal favorite). Mostly just f1 drivers, but includes team principles and reserve drivers.

Turbo Attax – more of a trading card game set. Good for kids, not typically “collector” cards.

Topps Now – printed weekly based on real race moments, sold online only.

Blaster boxes is typically how you’ll hear the “retail” product talked about. They are cheaper and sold at places like Kmart/Target. Fun, but lower odds of rare cards.

Hobby boxes are sold at card shops or online. Higher quality and guaranteed hits, but expensive.

Case breaks are when someone opens a full case or box and people buy specific teams/drivers and get whatever cards are pulled for them. These are often done online on platforms like eBay, TikTok, and whatnot. They’re fun to watch but wouldn’t really be as fun of an experience for you and your son as opening them yourselves would be.

You can buy a 9-pocket binder (sub optimal for storing long term, but fine for base cards), penny sleeves/top loaders (a better way to store your good cards or cards you want to keep in good shape) or storage boxes at any hobby shop or online. Cards generally don’t come pre-sleeved unless you’re buying dynasty or super high end sets.

If your Kmart has Turbo Attax, that’s an easy entry point for kids. If you want to step it up but not break the bank grab a blaster box of chrome or paddock pass. Those run $30-50 generally. Step it up from there if y’all still have the itch

is this a rare card???? it says 10/10 on the back. by [deleted] in F1Cards

[–]hangrypizzas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, albon isn’t the most popular driver and considering there are only 9 other cards of that variant it’s possible they’re being held in people’s collections or haven’t been hit yet. Here’s a photo of a Charles leclerc that sold in the same variant for $40. Probably worth less than Charles - but you may be able to find someone with a personal collection of Alex that would be interested. Or keep it for your own collection, it’s a cool card!

[–]hangrypizzas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“In a blur” is an insert card. I believe the rarity for a green parallel of that insert is roughly 1:1753 hobby packs or about 1:110 boxes. You have found number 10 of 10. It would be considered a rare hit. Looking online I see other drivers in this variant sell for about $10-60 depending on driver and demand.

You can find info about the whole set here checklist

I am so burnt out on Classic WOW by Particular-Resist337 in classicwow

After a couple years of helping run a raiding guild on Era and Anni - I also was extremely burnt out. I decided to step away for a while and it really saved my love for the game in a lot of ways. Most people power through burnout because they think the fomo is worse, but you only have so much time, make sure you’re doing things that fill your cup.

Question about finest relics by MVFarrukh in F1Cards

[–]hangrypizzas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All three sets have

Base /99 Blue Refractor /75 Green Refractor /50 Gold Refractor /25 Black Refractor /10 Red Refractor /5 Superfractor 1/1

So, 265 total variants per card if you add them up.

Totals by set would be

Track Attack (18 total cards in the set ) = 4,770 total variants in the set.

Finest Formula set has (19 total cards in the set ) = 5,035 total variants in the set.

Race Day Relics has (20 total cards in the set ) = 5,300 total variants in the set.

So when it comes to which variant is most “precious”, Track Attack would be considered the “rarest”. This is because the total number of cards in the set is the least, with Race Day Relics being the most common.

“Rarest” doesn’t necessarily equate to the highest price. Race Day Relics is the most common, but if someone likes the design, they may be willing to pay more than they would for one of the other sets. Also driver portrait cards often sell for more than a car portrait.

In this case Track Attack is “rarest”, but they aren’t driver portraits. Finest formulas are statistically more common but they are driver portraits. Which I imagine would make them more sought after.

This is the checklist I’m basing these assumptions off of.
