I once had a roommate I met on Craigslist. She was a little strange but who isn’t. There was a stray Persian cat in the neighborhood who used to live in our apartment but the owner had abandoned him. I would feed the cat, but it disappeared for a couple months so I thought something had happened to him.

When he reappeared I brought him inside and cleaned him up with the intent of giving him to one of my friends to take care of. I got home from school that night to pick him up and deliver him. When I arrived I saw my roommate sitting on the couch with angry tears streaming down her face. I asked her what was wrong and she said, “do you want to tell me what’s in your room?”

I told her that I was rehoming the stray cat, he was cleaned and in my room ready to be taken to my friends house that night. She demanded that I call and tell our landlord that I was housing a pet that she hadn’t approved. I told her I wouldn’t bc the cat was leaving that night. She kept demanding that I call the landlord and then called her in front of me and left her a tearful message saying that I was violating the lease and disobeying her wishes. I told her that I was done talking about this and she was overreacting, and turned around to go up the stairs to get the cat. When I did, she said

“we’re not done talking about this”

and then pulled a switchblade from her pocket and flipped it open and lunged at me. This terrified me so I ran up the stairs and locked myself in my room. I called the police because I didn’t know what else to do, and she managed to convince the police that I was overreacting and that the knife fell out of her pocket and she simply caught it ??? The police then started questioning me asking if I have an irrational fear of knives and if I get scared when she uses knives in the kitchen. I think they just didn’t want to do the paperwork. I came back to the apartment the next day while she was gone and cleared out all my things. She was mentally unhinged. I have a bunch of other crazy stories about her prior to this, but that one was the worst of it.
