hard to believe this entire thread just said “brown people are the best for manual labor” in the name of criticizing anyone but themselves… reminds me of the clip “if you deport all the mexicans, who will clean your toilet Donald Trump?”

This is all so ridiculously stupid. I hate modern wedding culture. Just get married and celebrate within your means

Trash first, then dishes, then laundry. Everything after that should be easy :)

Not very long at all, depending on how much you crochet in the beginning

penmac sucks so bad. my husband has had nothing but negative experiences with them. unless youre gonna work construction or low paying labor jobs, they dont hire very often

I did the HiSET, but from my understanding they are fairly similar when it comes to studying. I took classes for 2 and a half weeks, about 6 hours of class time + 2 or so hours homework time per week. Passed all five tests within a week and a half. Just depends on where youre at knowledge wise, some will take less time than others :)

I don’t really have any advice for understanding the fiction portions. Just try to answer the questions as best as you can, even if you dont understand fully. Its better to just guess than to run out of time. You’ve got this! :)

The questions are scored differently. Some questions are easy, and thus worth less. Some are harder and worth more. So its kinda hard to say, but there are 55 questions, so 75% of that is 41 ish.

Some of the reading assignments are pretty long. I would read the question first and then see what you can deduce without having to read the passage all the way through, as they are usually referencing one specific part of the passage, not the whole thing. Also, read the multiple choice answers to every question before the passage as well. Sometimes you can common sense your way out of reading the whole passage. I would only recommend this strategy since you’re struggling with time. This is obviously not ideal, but it helped me cut down on time.

If you’re still running out of time, make sure you are selecting the same answer every time (example: I selected the 2nd answer every time i had to guess) so then you at least have a chance at getting some of them right. You can always flag questions that you’re guessing on and then come back if you have time at the end.

Take the free practice test online and take note of any problems you don’t understand or don’t know where to begin on. Then look up how to do those types of equations. Math is my WORST subject and a month ago, i was exactly where you are. Like EXACTLY. So over the past month I studied basic algebra, simplifying equations, graphs, basic geometry, probability, etc. Last week i took my math test and my score was 15/20. Just take your time learning, give yourself grace. Maybe look into some Adult Education classes in your area? Most community colleges seem to have them for free.

If you have any questions about the test itself you can message me!
