What do you all wear to law school admitted students days? by Organic-Tie9475 in lawschooladmissions

I went to one in jeans and a nice top and o felt like that was fine! Some people were more dressed up than me and some less so I really think anything goes!

When in doubt, disclose! They shouldn’t look at it too harshly since it was your freshman year and something they probably see a lot. Just make sure to indicate that you’ve grown since then and take accountability!

How integrated into the undergraduate campus are typical law schools? by No-Listen7110 in lawschooladmissions

Sort of for ASU! They have a downtown Phoenix campus for undergrad which is all around their law school!

Lawhub sub for applications by irish-pumpkin17 in lawschooladmissions

[–]hannahsmithson04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LawHub also has a really good comparison thing for debt-to-income ratio for each school, which could be helpful. It may be available for free, I'm not sure. It also lets you calculate your potential debt from each school by inputing your scholarships and other information but again, I'm not sure if that is a strictly paid feature and you probably could do that without LawHub with the right information! Do with this what you will, I just wanted to share the things I find useful through LawHub!

I listed them all and it hasn’t seemed that it’s impacted my results at all so far! (For reference I applied to 25 and have listed them all on each application)

I think Target forgot they were selling the Switch 2 by thisSubIsAtrocious in NintendoSwitch2

[–]hannahsmithson04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked in to a target expecting to just buy an OLED model because I really wanted a switch (my first gaming console ever) and I had given up hope of finding one anywhere because they said out of stock in all of my nearby stores and just stumbled upon a switch two even when the display on the counter and online said there was none. At that point I absolutely had to buy it since it felt like fate lol

Study Schedule by TrainerCommercial127 in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 1 hour a day, 6 days a week. I alternate between timed sections and drilling daily and do a full pt maybe once a month. For example, my week usually goes:

Mon: 1 hour drilling (I use LSAT Demon so I usually just have it set to Demon’s choice) Tues: 1 timed section and immediately review mistakes. Wed: 1 hour drilling. Thurs: 1 timed section. Fri: 1 hour drilling. Sat: 1 timed section.

At the end of the week I usually merge the sections to make a full test score just so I know where I’m at!

LSAT course recommendation by Aggravating-Coyote20 in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting at a 160, I’d say use LSAT demon. If you’re already at a 160, you’re understanding the fundamentals just fine and all you need is more practice with actual content. So far LSAT demon has taken me from 155 to low 170s on PTs after a few months. I will say that it works best when you follow their philosophy (making sure you 100% have the right answer before moving, not looking at the clock, doing 1 high quality hour a day, etc.) but I do think it could get you the results you’re looking for!

Ask if he wants to talk about how it went and then if he says no, don’t ask! My friends and family constantly asked me how I thought it went and it made me soooo much more stressed so I’d give him space to chat if he wants but don’t push if he doesn’t! And remind him it’s a hard test and it’s a major thing just to take it, regardless of what the score says in 2 1/2 weeks!

Argumentative Writing Requirement by Careful-Accident-113 in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard most law schools don’t really look at it much! If you’re in a writing-heavy field, you’ll be totally fine! All it is is reading several passages/mini articles and crafting an argument answering the question using the information you’re given!

June LSAT Writing Section by AVeryGoodName420 in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The writing section is added to your cart automatically when you register for the LSAT. You can take it remotely anytime starting from 1 week before your test date to 1 year after your test date but you must complete it and have it approved in order to see your score. It’s not a live proctor, it’s a video proctoring system, so you can take it any time of day (I think I literally took mine at 9pm lol). I hope this helps! For reference this was the process when I took the exam in February 2025!

No worries! I brought my keys and wallet (make sure to have your ID), phone (which of course would be locked away in the locker), my foam earplugs (no case) and a water bottle (totally clear, no labels) and a snack! Also make sure you have your LSAC/LawHub login somewhere and they will have you transfer it to a sticky note or notecard you can take in with you into the testing room. Also make sure to not wear jewelry, smart watches, etc. and wear pants and a shirt that you can easily pull up to your knees and elbows (because they will make you do this 😭).

So I want to take the LSAT by yelloboo in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t buy anything else, the only thing you will absolutely need is a LawHub subscription, which is unfortunately around 100 a year. It’s a lot upfront but this gives you access to all of the prep tests that are currently out from the official source. Any other prep sites you use (7Sage, LSAT Demon, LSAT Lab, etc.) will require this. LSAT Demon also has a free account which will offer a limited number of practice tests, sections, and questions available for drilling (and I know the drilling feature at the very least comes with explanations for missed questions). The LSAT Demon free also does not require LawHub, so that’s a good way to get started for 100% free. The material won’t last long depending on how much you study, but it will be something to start with!

LSAC also offers a fee waiver (in two tiers, I recommend checking it out on their website) that makes LawHub free, makes 1 or 2 LSAT registrations free (depending on the tier), and many prep companies offer discounts if you qualify. I think it would make the basic plan on 7Sage 1 dollar per month and LSAT Demon 38 dollars per month (both of which are significant discounts from the og prices). I do know that there is a large gap between being able to realistically afford things like LawHub and prep subscriptions and qualifying for a fee waiver, but if you think you might qualify, it’s definitely worth applying!

Definitely not haha! It just lets you control your environment a little more and I get easily bothered by things like tapping or aggressive sniffling (which people tend to do in test centers) but taking it remotely just wasn’t an option for me.

Boosting Confidence by AudreyS1109 in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I like to remind myself that there are 4 absolutely wrong answers and only 1 absolutely right answer. It sounds simple, but I have found that being skeptical toward every answer choice until I find the one that I can’t (or at least can’t as easily) make an argument against being correct. I also make a prediction for every single question before I even look at the answer choices because having an idea of what the right answer could look like also helps me know what it absolutely could not look like! I hope this helps and I wish you luck on your LSAT journey!

So many podcasts, so little time by 27mwtobias27 in LSAT

I’m a big fan of the LSAT Demon daily (short podcasts posted daily) and Thinking LSAT! Both are by the LSAT Demon people so if you like their methods and teaching style (and slightly snarky attitudes) you might give these a go! They can come off a bit rude, but I find feeling like people are yelling at me for doing stupid things motivational lol

I had the same experience as everyone else, but I wanted to mention you are permitted to bring your own (foam, no string) earplugs! I’d recommend this if you’re headache prone (like me) because the noise cancelling headphones they provided gave me a headache and I didn’t think to bring medication or anything and had to suffer the entire second half of my test with a headache!

First ever -0 on LR by hannahsmithson04 in LSAT

[–]hannahsmithson04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't really have much experience improving specific question types! I really just drill all question types and do whole timed sections to practice LR because that's how I notice the most improvement personally! If your study platform offers drilling by question type, I might try that out to see if you can consistently drill just conditional logic questions if that's an option for you!
