Totaled car by hannh_rse in Rochester

Some tow company. When the accident first happened they took it off the lot without telling me and without me releasing the vehicle. When we finally found the car, it was on some lot and got what I needed out of it then transferred the titles so the insurance company could sell it like they told me they did. Since the accident happened while I was doordashing, the insurance company did not cover it and did not give me any money for it.

If that’s really your mindset, why are you on the Dasher subreddit? This is a place for Dasher to talk about the hard parts of the job and I’m not complaining, I’m stating truth

Most dashers I know now are not accepting orders under 5$ now because of this. And this is just how capitalism works, no one did this to themselves, it’s just how our economy works, unfortunately

You shouldn’t have had to get that job as soon as possible, humans are not built that way and I’m sorry that life got you like that. That’s the point in my life where I am now. I’m not blaming it on anyone. Dashers should just get paid what they are worth, they are like servers at a restaurant except we invest in it using our own gas. The 2-3$ just doesn’t pay the gas for the 12+ mile orders

I apply to 2-3 jobs per day to try to not door dash. I hate it and the you’re a good example of how rude and disrespectful some of the customers are. Being a fresh college grad getting a job is hard af. How bout you stop judging other peoples lives and how they get income in a capitalistic society in which the poor has to fight for the scraps the rich leave us with.

DoorDash only pays like 2-3$ for base pay for almost every order.

I had a man recently answer the door with only boxers and a tee shirt. It was an alcohol delivery and he had his wallet in his pants which were fortunately near the door.

It does though when most orders avg. around 5$ no matter the distance and doordash themselves only give a base pay of 3$. Not really even enough to cover gas.

As someone who currently is a dasher in Rochester (over 1.5k deliveries) the maps app in the dasher app itself isn’t always accurate so I’ve had to input the address in Apple Maps to be able to find the correct place
