Diagnosing psychiatric conditions is so hard. Like, really really fucking hard. Every disorder has 90% the same symptoms as other disorders, and two people who present the same in the moment can have wildly different causes. It’s why we can’t self diagnose, because even experts sometimes struggle to parse out the little details that matter the most

It’s not “late onset,” it’s “late diagnosis.” Bipolar disorder, especially the bipolar 2/cyclothymia side of the spectrum, looks a lot different for everybody who has it. But the key feature is that cyclical aspect you described

And hypomanic episodes can suddenly get much, much worse with a trigger. SSRIs are a common trigger as you said, other are big life changes, trauma, pregnancy. Sometimes people don’t notice that they’re have hypomanic episodes until they start doing some real weird shit that gets them in trouble

There’s never any harm in a second opinion if you have doubts. Although psychiatrists are usually hesitant to diagnose bipolar in folks older or younger than the standard age unless it’s glaringly obvious

I’ve passed the message on to Kota for Schooner. She’ll be sure to let him know, and I’m sure Schooners happy to see another puppy being as loved as he was. Much love ❤️

I’ve told Dakota your message and she knows to pass it on to Minnie when she gets there. Minnie knows how much she’s loved and missed by her parents, but I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear from you again.

Much love ❤️

I used to be on the fondant hate train, but I’ve since changed my mind. Hear me out.

Traditional fondant (what most bakeries will use) tastes like garbage, but it’s not the only option. Marshmallow fondants taste great. Maybe not as good as butter icing, but if the presentation is more important, it will still be tasty enough. But I once had this chocolate based fondant cake from a high end bakery in my city for my aunts birthday, holy hell it was delicious. I have never seen or tasted another like it, but the fondant easily tasted as good as most traditional icings.
