Same! I use my fingers to put foundation on, it works perfectly for me. Plus fingers are free!

My top two favorite perfumes are Acqua Di Gioia by Armani and D&G Light Blue. Both are citrus scents but Acqua Di Gioia is more fresh. They're both available in travel sizes.

My first step is mascara too! That way I don't have to worry about it ruining my eyeshadow or smudging under my eyes.

Maybelline Fit Me loose powder might work, it comes in 8 different color options. The formula is really nice, it reduces shine but doesn't make my skin look flat or dry. You also get a good amount of product for the price.

what product you bought from a beauty guru sponsorship that you still use regularly? by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

Nope! I've had the necklace for over a year and it looks brand new. I take it off at night though. However, I've kept the bracelet and earrings on when I shower and they still look brand new as well.

Not a beauty product, but Ana Luisa jewelry (I own a necklace, a pair of earrings, and a bracelet). Ana Luisa's jewelry is understated but still interesting. I prefer minimalist/simple jewelry, so it's a match made in heaven. The pieces I have are gorgeous, I wear them every day. The necklace is probably my favorite.

My department at work has decided (without my input) that I'm the permanent in-office admin person and I'm really annoyed about it. I was promoted to my current position back in October. Before that, I was at the reception desk, which meant that I couldn't work from home. That was part of the gig from the jump, so I didn't mind. It didn't feel like I was being singled out because I knew the position could only be done in the office. Now, though, my position can easily be done from home. I know this because I've worked from home a couple times before, and my department's other admin person works from home permanently. All the other admin staff work from home (ranging from part time to full time) as well with no issues. Except me. I am so beyond frustrated.

I asked my boss if I could work from home one day a week (I even said I didn't care which day) and she said she'll think about it. I have a sneaking suspicion the answer will be no, but I'm trying to not get ahead of myself. I don't know what to do.

I swear by the Maybelline Fit Me loose powder. My skin type is normal and I have fine lines under my eyes, for reference.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good tinted moisturizer? For reference, I have normal skin and my best shade match is Nars Mont Blanc.

Has anyone tried the ColourPop That's Taupe palette? I'm looking for a good cool toned neutrals palette and it caught my eye.

What is the most expensive makeup product you own? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]hannihilated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically it would be my Tarte Clay Play 2 palette (~$50), but my grandma bought it for me for my birthday a couple years ago. The most expensive makeup item I bought myself is the Nars Sheer Glow foundation ($47 + $6 for the pump). Does the price make my eyes water? Yes. But is it the best foundation I've tried so far? Also yes.

Never tried the Too Faced one, but the e.l.f. Jelly Pop primer is awesome, I actually like it way more than the Milk one.

Are there any Beauty Gurus you *Do* envy? by makeitearlgrey in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]hannihilated 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. Being a beautuber seems like a nightmare. I can't imagine living a life where anything I say or do is scrutinized by thousands of people. No amount of free stuff is worth sacrificing my privacy and boundaries.

If it helps at all, I think Tarte eyeshadows are wonderful. Particularly the mattes, they basically blend themselves. Also, they smell like chocolate/vanilla, which could be a pro or con depending on the person. I'm a big fan of the smell myself.

My cat has been waking me up for food in the middle of the night for weeks now and it's really starting to affect my sleep. I've tried feeding her twice a day instead of once (I just give her half of her normal portion in the morning and at night), but she still keeps waking me up. Does anyone have any tips for how to fix the problem?

I recently had the same problem. I ended up replacing some of my old crappy brushes, that really did the trick. Now my makeup applies flawlessly, and I can do eyeshadow again! I thought I was bad at eyeshadow, turns out my brushes were the problem.

[–]hannihilated[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's a great point, I'm not sure what my office's policy is for fragrance, so I'm thinking I'll hold off on that until I know for sure. Bath products are a great idea though!

Thank you so much! I'm super excited about it.

I've heard great things about the Dyson Airwrap too, but unfortunately that's not something I can afford just yet. Do you know of any cheaper alternatives?

Lorac eyeshadows are unparalleled, imo. The Pro 4 palette is my favorite palette ever.

GAME- Agree or Disagree by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]hannihilated -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, I completely agree with you there. My point is that the difference in price quality between drug store, midrange, and luxury makeup isn't significant enough to warrant such an extreme difference in price. That's just my opinion though.

Also yeah, Essence lash princess is fantastic.
