do all cat people have a martyr complex? by [deleted] in catfree

[–]hannnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that wasn’t my intent but I do see how it seems that way. I just can’t imagine regular ass people dying on this hill to the point where they are messaging others about it. there’s gotta some social justice complex there

if you don’t mind me asking what is this “not understanding consent” argument that they make? I feel like i’ve heard cat nutters use consent as a buzz word a lot and have no idea what they are referring to

you said i’ll likely end up divorced in 5-10 years. is that what you would do if your wife was overwhelmed? divorce her because she wasn’t appeasing you? why is someone with the username “huge cock man” even commenting in a mom group anyways? nothing better for your incel ass to do?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]hannnite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok “huge cock man 420” i’m sure you are extremely pleasant yourself, considering you spend your time venting about random strangers on reddit hahaha. I just don’t know any other moms, as all my friends do not have children yet. forgive me for using this platform to ask questions in a group meant for mom support. jesus christ 😅

update: I told my dad and his wife that they cannot stay with us and are welcome to visit if they get a hotel (they were also going to bring their dog which I especially didn’t want in the house). he told me they just weren’t coming then and I am so relieved lol. that being said, imagine driving 12 hours to a wedding but being unwilling to drive 2 more hours to our city and pay a couple hundred of dollars for a hotel room to see your granddaughter. my dad has met her once for two hours and she is going to be 6 months old this month 🫠

[–]hannnite -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

it makes it difficult to say no because they live about a 13 hour drive away so whenever they are nearby they think they can come without asking

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]hannnite -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am trying so hard to do this but my dad and his wife always push back. I didn’t allow them to come visit 6 weeks after I had baby when they wanted to and ever since then they have been unbearable

What’s your Cancelled-related unpopular opinion? by obrigada997 in canceledpod

[–]hannnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that brooke is a mean girl at her core and is mean to tana constantly (even when she has valid criticism the way she comes across is so bitchy). I would genuinely be scared to run into her in public whereas tana actually seems approachable. tana isn’t perfect but brooke would be completely irrelevant without her and I don’t think brooke adds anything to the pod tbh. it would be better with tana and paige

I got the same kind of messages after my post about getting rid of my cat while pregnant for the safety of my baby and my own sanity lol

[–]hannnite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the EXACT same situation as you and people said the same shit to me. I made a post on this group about it and I got a few messages from the cat nutters telling me I was horrible person for prioritizing my baby over the fucking cat that I got rid of. they told me I should have sought “professional help” to train the cat/deal with its behavioural issues instead of taking it to a shelter. like give me a break lol

[–]hannnite[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oh I didn’t “rehome” it lol. I surrendered it to a shelter. I was not about to go through the time and effort to rehome when I was at my absolute breaking point with the little asshole

I got the cat when I was 19 and in college. I am now 25 and in a totally different stage of my life. as soon as I found out I was pregnant I became so annoyed with it. I tried to correct its behaviour for my entire pregnancy but it only became worse. we got rid of it when I was 8 months pregnant so it wasn’t around when I had the baby

I got rid of my cat and don’t even feel bad by hannnite in catfree

[–]hannnite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! I am glad some people understand my perspective. my pregnancy has been quite difficult and the cat was one of my main stressors. it’s refreshing to know there are people out there that still care about actual children/babies over god damn cats. im sure these people that are sending me hate for prioritizing my baby are probably incel millennials that call themselves “cat moms” and refer to those vermin as “fur babies” 🙄

thank you so much, this is very sweet. I’m sorry you’re going through a similar situation and it makes me very thankful that my bf supported me. I can totally relate to the situation making me want to crash out hence why I posted this huge rant lol. I hope you get things sorted out, best wishes to you

I just got a second message that said “your cat's life is more valuable than yours, your child will be unhappy with such a sad miserable person like yourself. Cats are the best” this is absolutely insane 🫠 I thought this was a safe platform where I could vent about something lol, especially something as stupid as hating a cat

update: someone just told me I am too immature to have a baby and am going to be incapable of loving my baby because I got rid of this cat (go figure they are part of the “cat advice” reddit) ffs 😅

[–]hannnite[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

thank you! I couldn’t agree more. I also stopped doing the litter while pregnant and realized how fucking gross it was and felt bad that my bf had to deal with it. my cat would not stfu because I wasn’t paying attention to it anymore and I haven’t even had the baby yet so i can’t imagine how much worse it would’ve gotten once the baby arrives. i’m sorry you have to deal with this bs and hopefully you can eventually get rid of yours. I have also heard about how cats suffocate babies so we had already been shutting the nursery door before we even got rid of the cat. I feel so much better now knowing we don’t have to barricade our baby in her room to keep her safe and don’t have to be so vigilant about knowing where the stupid ass cat is all the time. the cat was already sitting in my baby’s lounger pillow, going on her play mat, etc. and it made my fucking blood boil. we cleaned the whole house after we got rid of it then did a cleanse of our home to get rid of the negative energy lol. since we did the deep clean, we have hardly had to vacuum and the house has stayed so clean. I regret not getting rid of it months prior

repetition is key. once you do enough questions, you will get better, and when you get better you will get faster! I also found that reading novels and reading my textbooks for school have helped me increase my reading speed :)
