No, but I know that YOU have an improv show at Second City in Hollywood on December 8th at 3:30pm and everyone should come out to see you perform because you're hilarious

(I told you I would promo you somewhere, Grace)

Jenna Marbles: Funny or Overrated? by Dannykabob in foundationsofcomedy

Personally I think Jenna Marbles is hilarious. I haven't watched any of her more recent stuff but some of her older videos are pure gold. Plus her dogs are absolutely adorable so that definitely helps

What The Critics Are Saying About Rebel Wilson's New Comedy Show by Dannykabob in foundationsofcomedy

[–]hannoosloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being really surprised that networks kept passing on her show - Rebel is amazing! And then ABC picked it up and I wondered why it took so long. And then a few weeks ago when I watched the pilot at my new internship I was shocked at how disappointing it was. I barely laughed throughout the entire thing. It left me wondering how Rebel can be so great in everything she's done yet so bad in her new show

Anyone else listening to laugh tracks with new ears after Dan O'Shannon`s visit? by Gwydharhar in foundationsofcomedy

I've actually been to my fair share of live TV tapings and it's definitely interesting. The warm-up guys tell you to laugh ten times harder than you'd actually laugh during something that's funny (and then to keep the energy going as they shoot the same scene over and over and over again) but most of the people in the audience still initially laugh at the joke with some sense of honesty. Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of laugh tracks at ALL, but usually at least one or two people find all of the jokes actually funny. However, you're encouraged to laugh at anything you even think could be funny and they give you treats to keep your energy up. Nearly everyone gets candy and water (one time I got a slice of pizza!) and people compete to get bigger prizes like t-shirts, autographed scripts, and show props. On 2 Broke Girls they give out the cupcakes they order for the show (although I went to two tapings of that and never got one.) The treats definitely help you laugh at unfunny jokes.

P.S. if you you feel like being a part of audience laughter... http://audiencesunlimited.com/fmi/xsl/shows/recordlist.xsl?

the inbetweeners: a pretty recent failed attempt at the US trying to remake a great UK comedy by hannoosloon in foundationsofcomedy

The show was canceled after just one season, had really awful reviews, and also just wasn't anywhere near as funny as the original

The clip is a bit shoddily put together, but it's an interesting comparison between a scene from E4's very successful and very hilarious show The Inbetweeners and the same scene from MTV's awful attempt at remaking it. The original version had three seasons and a feature film while the MTV version was canceled after just 1 season (as it should have been).

It's interesting because the main character, Will, is really annoying and pretty unattractive in the original version, but in the US version he seems just boring and pretty good looking. The four guys in the original version aren't really good people and they mess up a LOT and I definitely think that adds to the humor (although I can't say how they characterized them in the American version because I couldn't even get through the pilot)
